People keep saying that this version is better than the original with Usher. In my opinion, I would 100% agree on liking both if this version had kept the original beat instead of taking it out and just having a piano playing cause me personally I'm not feeling the piano on this song😑😒. The piano is making it hard for me to understand what Terrence is saying on this.I would prefer the original version with Usher cause of the beat😐. The piano makes the song sound like it is all over the place 😕😒. If they had just replaced Usher with Terrence with the original beat and vocals...then this version would be fireee and would sound more lit & like a R&B song. The piano makes it sound kind of gospel.😕😐

I suppose thats why i can relate to Taraji in doing the empire with Terrence because they have a better history with one another so it allows the same two original people to work together in the making of the other movie. Thats why i said that u have to have an ear or a nact for the two main characters.

U have to have an ear for the person in order to hear what lucious was saying at the end. Like in hustle n flow so mess with me djay lol.

This version is 10x better than Usher. Too bad Mary only appeared as a flashback. Hopefully her character is expanded by the second season.

This is hands down my favorite song off the Empire soundtrack. Terrence and Mary J. Blige just created something so soulful and powerful on this track it's amazing and they compliment each other so well. I really enjoyed Terrence's vocals here, pure emotion.
