Emmylou Harris - So Sad Lyrics
We use to have good times together dear
But now I feel them slip away
It makes me cry to see love die
So sad to watch good love go bad
you said nothing could change your mind
It breaks my heart to see us part
so sad to watch good love go bad
Is it any wonder that I'm feeling so blue
when I know for certain that I'm losing you
It breaks my heart to see us part
so sad to watch good love go bad
So sad to watch good love go bad

Emmylou Harris So Sad Comments
says it all :'(
She does have a special voice... / Here another cover: https://youtu.be/RZ0QvBWPfss
Nice guitar work. I've never heard her do a song that I didn't like.
Emmylou Harris a un grand talent à réaliser de belles chansons au niveau maximale de jouissance. Aussi elle a un orchestre extraordinaire!
Beautiful lady with a beautiful voice .What else is there to say ?
CLASSIC.....BEAUTIFUL
I had no idea Emmylou Harris did this Everly classic. Very beuatiful and so is Emmylou. James Canada
Sweet. But I prefer Connie Smith's live version, sung solo [as opposed to duet LP version] . She has a such a strong voice and that's what this song requires.
Une des meilleures chansons d'E. Harris! Superbe!
The very best version of this song....my opinion... and the steel guitar is absolutely GORGEOUS....
OMG....Emmylou's Voice!!
Dripping like Honey........
There are many great versions of this song, including the original by The Everly Bros. but I always seem to come back to this one.
Have you heard her and Albert Lee doing this, with Albert singing the lead and playing piano? Her accompaniment is spot on; shows what an unselfish performer she is.
soooooo BEAUTIFUL Emmy just perfect ..........Music Lover Ireland
she's beautiful. alas, like all women she's also crazy
Crazy? How?
I get chills every time I hear this song. Around '65 or '66, I was working as a soda jerk at the local 5&10 cent store, while Emmylou was doing time at Lou's fine dining and pawn shop. I fell hard the first time I saw her, but for some reason her parents didn't like me. I mean, they didn't even know me for crying out loud. I walked her home the day we met and Emmylou told me later, her dad didn't think I measured up to his standards. Most everyday she would come into the store for a chocolate Sundae, or banana split, and every so often a simple ice cream cone. No matter what she ordered, I always gave her some extra, while I reached over the counter and squeezed her hand. Strange , but she would never let me hold her hand for any length of time. Eventually her dad walked into the store and ordered a hot fudge Sundae. I tried to gain acceptance by loading up the Sundae with extra everything. When he finished he said, listen to me old timer, if I see you irritating my daughter again, I'll put a whippin' on you like never before. I asked him why he didn't like me and he said, she's only 18 years old and what are you 67 or 68? I told him I looked old for my age, I was actually only 64 and a half. Yes, it was sad to watch good love gone bad. sniff
How moving. Now you must be 116 or something. Must try again. Time's running out.
David Menaza Tooo funny !!!
LOLOLOL..... great story
Are you "David Starsky's" (Of Starsky & Hutch) Grand Father??????????..smile!
@Johnny Lonewolf Ha-ha............................?
Check the version by Marty Wilde and his daughter Roxanne - live.
After all these years, Beautiful Women, Beautiful Voice!
Amazing.....she is really a great singer
everytime emmylou harris do covers it always good & while others said better than d original.. Well i agree..
almost every song she sings makes me cry, so lovely!!!
Vern Smith she didn't write it Don Everly wrote it
Great song great singer
emmylou you do a great job as always
Emmylou has the rare gift of being able to do covers that are always as good as if not better than the originals. In this case she gives Don and Phil a run for the money.
and is equally as good as the Brothers
Steel guitar at 1:47 ... beautiful.
RIP, Phil.
Beautiful song.
Beautiful people.
RIP
God bless Phil such a great person, just watched special about their lives, such humility and appreaciation for their heritage, and ancestors, and such harmony, Sad at this song remembering my late Sister Carole who, being 5 years older introduced me to Everlys and many others... rest in peace...Carole. and Phil
This is EmmyLou at her best, Phil and Don Everly's Song, Still grieving Phil today, seems like his loss is connected to many personal losses, Especially my Older Sister Carole, who intro'ed me to Everlys in early 1960's ... Feel like a family member has passed away...
God Bless the Everly Brothers. Long Live Rock and Roll
R.I.P. Phil everly........
Be sure to listen to the duet by Marty Wilde and his daughter right here on YT.
Great version and I agree with all the dudes here - isnt she just the most beautiful woman? Lynda Carter, close second but she can't play a jumbo Gibson, so points off for that!
emmylou I love you!!!!
Quite right--the mark of a true artiste.
@MrDaiseymay Emmylou has a way of taking other people's songs and making them her own.
WOW!!---I didn't think it possible to hear a cover version of this that could rival the Everly's great original---I love them equally.
My "Breath" has been taken Away........
Brilliant!! Just Brilliant!
@berend1959 She's gotten even more beautiful as she has gotten older.
Yes and beautiful..
@berend1959 And also beautiful..
A angel escaped from heaven, what a voice.
@linnet100 I'm Glad to have provided it.
