With a voice as a sharp and silvery as a Christmas bell chiming in the clear cold night...Light of the Stable is absolutely my most favorite non-traditional Christmas carol, second only to O Holy Night. I never heard any other artist sing this. I never heard it sung anywhere else except this album. Her voice and the words to this song NEVER fail to bring me to tears because of the simplicity and beauty of the message, the music, the arrangement and the amazing women's voices. It's a beautiful today as it was when I first heard it almost 20 years ago.
This is the most amazing Christmas song and to hear Linda Ronstadt belting harmony vocals in the background makes me so sad we've lost her voice. I remember chilly December days, decorating my house for Christmas listening to this most amazing album.
