Emmylou Harris - Easy From Now On Lyrics

There he goes gone again
Same old story's gotta come to an end
Lovin' him was a one way street
But I'm gettin' off where the crossroads meet
It's a quarter moon in a ten cent town
Time for me to lay my heartaches down
Saturday night gonna make myself a name
Take a month of sundays to try and explain

It's gonna be easy to fill
The heart of a thirsty woman
Harder to kill the ghost of a no good man
And I'll be ridin' high in a fandangled sky
It's gonna be easy; It's gonna be easy from now on

Raw as whip but clean as a bone
Soft to touch when you take me home
When the mornin' comes and it's time for me to leave
Don't worry 'bout me, I got a wild card up my sleeve

It's gonna be easy to fill
The heart of a thirsty woman
Harder to kill the ghost of a no good man
And I'll be ridin' high in a fandangled sky
It's gonna be easy, It's gonna be easy
It's gonna be easy from now on

I never think of Emmylou as 'country'. Yes, at times, and she's tried hard. But mostly I think of her as folkie, and Americana. Like Mary Chapin Carpenter. (I'm not a fan of most country music).

  7. M.... J....

My favorite female country singer of all time.

This is REAL talent unlike others from this time era like fucking jokes by the names (or at least the names I call them) shitsey clein lureta lyn lureta lyns sister krystale gaile and lynn Anderson and a few others not named talents like dolly emmylou and tammy wynette (this is YEARS AND YEARS before my time. Not sure when this came out but I'm pretty sure my mom and dad were either kids or teenagers. I was born in 1993. And just cuz I like emmylou does NOT mean I only listen to old stuff because if it's country and if it's GREAT INCREDIBLE country then I'll listen to it. But country didn't start getting ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE until probably 1989 when the "class of 89" as it's called came out (Travis tritt Alan Jackson Clint black and a few others). I also LOVE literally 95-97% if the stuff from country radio today as long as it's not rascal flats Keith urban chris shitpelton Florida Georgia line John party Frankie ballerd and this girl from the voice named raylynn. Other than that it's ALL incredible country and today's country is just as country as this time era and the 90s were

This is EQUALLY as incredible as Miranda's version. She has a version on her crazy ex-girlfriend CD. I just finished listening to that CD about five minutes ago. Haven't listened to it in forever. I'm trying to listen to at least one CD I haven't listened to in a while every night even though I'm SUPER busy 24/7

Music began 100's of years ago.  No body knew anything about music.  But, one day, someone made a sound that people liked; Humanity then began to call it music, as they learned to reproduce the sound and write music on paper.  Later, well trained singers and guitar players (and such other instrument players) play well and have diplomas, but they do not appeal to a random cross-section of people ... I wonder, how it is,THAT: when music began a random cross-section of people liked a sound and the sound formed into music, HOWEVER NOW music that is not enjoyed by a random cross section of people is called MUSIC.  So we escape this ambiguity by claiming different people like different music.  But scholars of music fail to make sounds that appeal to the general audience, though we praise them for a complex SYMPHONY in which you had to study to be able to appreciate the scholastic music;  Should music just be like a rose, in which "no one has to tell you" the rose is beautiful for you to see the beauty of a rose.  THAT is where music began;  Music had an interesting sound (whether people understood the sound or not), and people wanted to reproduce that sound;  So humanity began the study and practice called: MUSIC.  Some symphonies do sound good, however scholastic the music is -  while other symphonies are just impossible to listen too.  It is not a matter of how well trained you are, it is a matter of making an interesting sound that you and others enjoy.  Thank You Emmylou, from Donald.  You are a rose which no one has to explain as beautiful (The Loveliest part of Beautiful is you).
