Emmure - Rusted Over Wet Dreams Lyrics
No words could ever describe the feeling.
The feeling of holding onto your ghost.
But if there's just one more thing I could as of you. Just one more request.
Please don't ever forget me. No, don't you ever forget.
Everyday it's getting harder just to turn the page.
And I'm trying to take my own advice.
That things will change. That things will change.
But whom am I kidding? I'm so afraid.
That things will change. That things will change.
I want you to know how it feels to be in love with the ghost that bears your name.
Know that my love was not in vain.
[Chorus]
But if there's one regret we can share, what shall we name him?
What shall we name our dead son? [x4]

Emmure Rusted Over Wet Dreams Comments
Sick Acacia song
Still come back to this every now and then. Can't believe its been 10 years already...
More like 12
I liked this song so much better before I read these stupid fucking comments...
This is probably one of the better songs they put out, who agrees?
This and that one song off respect issue but the rest is lame.
Man this entire album is brilliant imo. Lyrically so raw and real. They really to me seem like a band that had something they wanted to say, said it with this album. Then just never had anything else to say.
I kick it old skool
“What should we name...our gay son”
08 emmure will always be special
I remember when there was a time when i thought that this album was good. Coming back to it like 10 years later...i just cringe...
they loved a town over from me. saw em like 8 times where we played in Poughkeepsie also. Frankie is one angry testosterone filled funny mother fucker
Vocal sucks but good riffs
Wish Frankie could make more songs like this now. But now he wants to go full nu-djethcore revival. Which I have no problem with because it sounds good asf still but I know they can produce a sound like GttG again and they're not doing it. :/
Crusted over wet dreams!!!!!
my first ever Emmure song. :D <3
Hate all you want, Frankie still pounding good shit out years later
horrible quality
02:15 hell broke loose
this song makes me want to respect women
Torso Emmure is Respect-Core
It makes me want an abortion
You just made a random irrelevant millennial comment. You missed the point completely. Good job.
I like to listen to Emmure whether it's there old or new stuff. I think their new album "Look at Yourself" is actually one of there best works since Speaker IMO. I know this album is praised by Emmure fans (even me). This album gives me a nostalgic feeling every time I listen to it through. It tells a story that keeps me intrigued to the end. While I can listen to all there other albums and enjoy them, they don't give off the same vibes this one does. I'm pretty sure Frankie has a dark history behind this album especially this song in particular. Frankie also claims most of their songs are about his real life and him growing as a person. So if the story of this album is true then it makes the album a lot more sincere. Even though their newer stuff doesn't give off vibes like this one it's still just fun to listen to and rock out to Emmure.
If you don't like Emmure that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I'm a simple guy I like sound more then complexity.
+ElectroNinjaHD
That’s cool that you like Emmure regardless of what the more popular opinion is of them. I personally think that “Look At Yourself” is Emmure’s best work as well and it’s mainly because Frankie managed to get some talented people on his team. The people who worked on GttG and TRI had SOME talent, but it wasn’t enough to save the albums from being chugcore nonsense. But hey, at least there’s an audience for their type of music. Not a very well educated audience, but still it’s great that Emmure found a target demographic that they can exploit. Same for the rest of their discography before “Look At Yourself”....except the band’s music was mostly targeted at autistic gamers, conspiracy theorists, and possible school shooters lol.
Also if you like old Emmure, I recommend you check out Northlane. Not their new stuff because it’s simple hard rock now, but their older material from 2013 and before kicks some major testicles. I highly recommend their EP “Hollow Existence”, it’s basically like Emmure.....except it has better songwriting, better screams, better everything really. But check it out, I really think you’ll LOVE it!
fucking amazing song
most brutality album
That people change ... Yes emmure changed! Lol
He doesn't say "people", he says "that things will change*. But yeah I enjoy their new stuff. Bands change all the time.
honestly I always liked emmure ... nd I seriously dint even who the acaia strain was
memories
brings me back to the person i missed
Antonio Sauceda wow
This statement
Hits hard, i too can relate
But in a appreciation in a nostalgic way
The past is the beauty of who one is now
Amen I played a show w them once they showed the metal scene what breakdowns were really about and started this dischorded shit
U all need to look up convergent evolution. Also the guitar work in this song is the shit and I don't give a fuck what anyone says. Do u hear guitar work like that in smoke ya later?
I love how on the album towards the end of this song, it transitions into "you got a henna tattoo that said forever" and it just goes so perfectly together
what should we name our dead son... ?
Fredrick.
what emmure song says "nod your head if you can hear me" right before the breakdown?
ive been trying to figure it out forever
He says "God if you can here me," and it's When Everything Goes Wrong, Take The Easy Way Out
You can hate this band, but the drummer is great, gets no credit and he jams harder then most drummers out their live.
there is new drummer, a guy from ASP mate
@bazhc
not official yet
...mate
@bazhc
I thought they had the bury your dead drummer?
Anyway the drummer they had all the way up to felony was awful. Like obnoxiously bad. BUT as an individual, the rest of the band seemed to carry, cos i still enjoy goobye to the gallows the most.
Never liked this band but I always liked this song catchy melody to it.
Goodbye to the Gallows came out in 2007 and 3750 came out in 2004...
only thing any sort of similar is the talking in the riff, the riff sounds different and the entire song after it does too
Ok so does that mean emmure in their entirety stole it? Probably not. TAS are cunts. They can't recognize when someone else is a fan obviously. The riffs and vocals sound the same, but this is deathcore. There literally is no other way to do vocals and emmure is all 010101010101010 so it's going to sound similar. No one is in the wrong here. Maybe im a sadist but it is cool when bands beef with each other. And it gives both of them some relevance.
Yeah, this is pretty much the ONLY good song that came from this album. Wish that Emmure created the rest of their discography by taking inspiration from this song, it probably wouldn’t have been so atrocious for 6 whole albums.
@Chris Miller if ya wanna go that far, then Smoke Ya Later is up your alley.
2:16 part :D
DAT break down doe.. What shall we name our dead son?
how u know it was a son
Teenage angst right here.
Generic -core hate comment here.
If THIS is teenage angst, then what the fuck do we call their music that comes afterwards?
I used to listen to this album on long car trips. Such a fun journey, this album. I will miss this version of Emmure. Always.
I might be 5 years too late. But this emmure sounds exactly like a band called disfigured elegance.
Fun journey😂 lol real shit it's true
I didn't believe that the main melody and spoken words section was ripped from "Smoke Ya Later" by The Acacia Strain at first but holy shit Emmure really do like to steal their songs
I know! Holy shit, TAS must know about this!
@Kaleb Michael
TAS had a feud with Emmure, but since then they made amends
+Dante DMC it's just like ABR and TIJ
This is one of the few songs I like by this band.
Sounds like ADTR a bit.
Too fucking true
This song gives me serious feels
There was a few bangers after this album, not as consistent as this era though
Got some lyrics from this song my back:)
dealwithit.jpeg
Wow, why the fuck is this a top comment?
Who gives a fuck. Acacia Strain shit on these. End of.
Dude, why did they even make a comment section on YouTube? So fuckheads could argue all day...?
Oh look and Acacia Strain fan.
only album from emmure
I agree. I'd rather drag my balls through broken glass then listen to new Emmure
These guys need to stop tuning to drop z, go back to drop a# and write fast melodic jams like this again. the melodic songs on this album were the fucking best. it's a shame that they blow now.
Emmure is the cure to my anger when someone fucks me over
i only hate this band and song because they copyed the acacia strain. if i never knew the acacia strain existed i would probably like it. but who really gives a fuck
Holy crap I underestimated this song. So good.
First time I am hearing this. Damn, seriously good! No, freaking amazing!
I seem to have hit a nerve. Sorry you have a shitty taste in music I guess?
this song was very influential for me, I like the guitar tone and the way the drummer makes the song move. one of emmures best songs, great CD
I wish the world had my raped baby so when its born I could strangle it to death. Baby buster by The Acacia Strain
this shit use to be my jam back in the day
All the crappy rap songs on the radio sound the same, so stop worrying about this and smoke ya later sounding similar, both are good bands, but get over it.
okey C: , i like every type of metal but i hate the people like you when say "the new generation of metal is shit" or "nu-metal is no metal because their songs have rap and grunge"......men grown up ¿Why do not we join all metalheads and live in peace?
yep and you too Cx
Man this song is so amazing. Im glad i decided to listen to emmure more often. I have them a chance afyer a wile. And come one, how can you hate these guys?.
Then don't look up this song and troll on it you piece of shit. :)
wow i guess this really does sound like a shitty version of smoke ya later.
Brilliant music. That's all I have to fuckin say.
This song is actually really damn sad when you hear the story behind it.
fucking amazing!
I think you mean to say "He'd kick my ass"
My comment was a reply to another comment. I'm really not sure if your comment is directed toward me or not.
who the fuck compares metallica shit to this one? LOL
great song! perfect lyrics to go with this edgy guitar playing. i love bands who have real shit to talk about. unlike the these pop stars that are plagued in media, and have nothing real to say. check out this band called Salo, i just posted their full sampler on my page, check it out! good stuff ;)
Yeah and if it wasn't metallica it woulda been someone else...and so on.
Obvious troll is obvious.
You're*
Listen to Smoke Ya Later and tell me this doesn't rip it off.
If Metallica never paved the way for metal back in 1981, Emmure wouldn't even be around.
You gotta be fucking kidding me.
What shall we name our dead son?
Killswitch Engage is the best example for metalcore -.- there arent emo bitches
Smoke over wet dreams later
Buff? I think you meant kinda overweight.
@Roberto Reyes @Roberto Reyes If you liked this shit you should probably check out the far superior song it ripped off. Smoke ya later- The Acacia Strain
SO you think Emmure , The Acacia Strain, Heaven shall burn and Parkway Drive look like Emos ?
You never saw them, right ?
All Scene Emo Bitches are in Metalcore
The only good band you named was Slayer... Most of those bands are generic corporate Nu-Metal/Alternative metal. I do agree with you that this band isn't that good though. This song actually surprised me with this song it's melodic and sounds actually enjoyable in certain spots but overrall they write really boring "heavy" deathcore music. Sometimes you just wanna listen to a catchy heavy song I understand but these guys are cheesy as fuck.
sry dude but your in the wrong scene :-/
This is Metalcore.
If you serach Emo Bitches go to Scremo or Black Viedi Brids
best album from emmure ...
u must be trolling haha SLIPKNOT????PAPA ROACH ????WHATS NEXT ?
this and sleeping princess
I contributed a dislike to this gay-ass song by the poser band with a half-ass singer fuck emmure
yeah he's gotta be a troll lol
lol Papa Roach? wow get your ass out of this page. wow.. Papa Roach lmao are you 10?
you have to be a troll...
Emmure tries to hard to be hardcore
The singer for this shitty band sounds like he's got a wad of jizz stuck in his throat lol! You emo scene bitches need to get with some real stuff instead like Linkin Park, System of a Down, Slayer, Saliva, Slipknot and Papa Roach
i can't believe you just -tweeted- said that.
Rip off of Smoke Ya Later but everyone knows that.
