Eminem - Our House Lyrics

Here's the story, of a little boy.
Growin' up in a suburban home,
Trying to cope with everyday life,
Who lives in a little house,
That was built, in the middle of the street.

"Hey, Mom!
Tupac's on the juke box,
so what he shot two cops,
and raped a little girl,
while two dudes watched,"
"Nuh-uh! They were tryin' to frame him,
You wouldn't have Two Pack Shaker,"
"No! That ain't how you say his name, mum!
You're so lame,
Don't you know anything?"
"Yeah!
I know that you'll probably go,
and join in a gang,"
"Yeah, right. I'm out
Where's my fuckin' walkman at?"
"Stop cussin' at me!"
"Shut up, bitch!"
"And quit talking black."
Well,
Slammed the door and I'm out,
Now, what?
It's probably warm in the house.
Fuck, I forgot my jacket,
forgot it was winter.
I'm gettin' thinner,
I'm hungry.
Is Mom cookin' dinner?
"Mom!
Let me back in!
I forgot my coat.
Mom, come on, I'm not playin',
It's cold!
Alright, sorry.
I need a jacket,
Mom, look,
My Tupac tape,
I just cracked it,
Ma, please let me back in,
It is Two Pack Shaker,
I just asked him."
I'm freezin', (achoo)
I'm sneezin',
I'm breathin' too much cold air,
I'm wheezin',
"I ain't did nothin',
I didn’t say "I'm leavin',"
I said "I'm goin' on the front porch to get somethin',""
[scissors cutting]
"Alright, here.
Take your damn coat and leave,"
"Fine I'll leave!
Mom! You cut off the sleeves!"

[Chorus 4x]
Our house,
In the middle of the street.

One, two, three,
My teacher's two faced,
She went to lower my school grades,
Since Last Tuesday,
I had a toothache,
from kool-aid,
So Mom kicked me out, (get out)
And, all i had in my suitcase,
Was one shoelace,
A tube sock,
and a tube of toothpaste,
Sometimes,
It was cool,
"cause I could go to a friend's,
Crash there,
Fool around and just skip school.
But other times,
I'd rather just be home,
In my own room alone,
BEAT my shit and nobody would know,
My little brother sucked on a bottle,
'Til he was six,
So I'd hide it inside the couch,
And say "I don't know where it is,"
But as soon as Mom found it,
I would either be grounded,
or kicked out the house,
a thousand weeks,.
and still countin',
Even when I was underage,
Mom was tellin' cops,
I was tryin' to run away,
I told her,
"Someday, bitch, you're gonna pay,"
Please, Mom, Please, Mom, Please, Mom,
I wanna stay, (let me stay)

[Chorus 4x]

My brother's incoherint,
Mom's a single parent,
Who ain't carin',
Starin' through me,
Like I'm transparent,
Made it clear,
That I was just there,
to run an errands,
Told her friends,
I was a son from her last marriage,
Sent me up to the little corner store,
with a little note,
"Please, sell my step-son,
Some cigarettes so I can smoke,"
One time,
I tried to fake sick,
To get attention,
Back-fired,
Mom, sent me to school,
With a vengence,
My life's the worst thing that could ever happen to me,
I go to class,
and every teacher's always laughin' at me,
And Mom says white rappers are laughed at.
Not only that,
She heard me upstairs,
I can't rap,
and I'm stupid,
I never make an average,
of a B+,
I need to sit on my ass and sue people,
Like she does,
One time, I got food poison,
From a hot dog,
Mom sued and got $2,000,
From Ballpark,
"Hey, Ma. You got a dollar?"
"I don't think so.
Now keep an eye on your brother,
I'm goin' to bingo."
"But, Mom. You said you were broke."
"Who said?
You got your ears messed up,
from that damn rap music."

[Chorus Fades Out]

How I was introduced to Eminem

I was sitting at the family computer back in 1999 maybe beginning of 2000. I was 9. And the left of me was a burned cd, that my older sister had left, in a plastic sleeve and all it said was "Eminem" on it. Popped it in the computer and this song was one of the first songs to come on. I was instantly hooked. I started listening to hip hop at tge age of 6 and Em was something that was completely different and especially this song was completely different in the greatest way possible and loved how this song painted pictures. The cd was mixed with all kinds of Eminem songs. Even though it was a burned cd i wish i would have taken it from my sister because it's long gone now. This song will always be one of my favorites by him.

    B.... F....

For me it was when they played "My Name Is" for the very first times on MTV. I was in the kitchen at some friends house and heard the song from the living room, and I remembered instantly going into a small shock when I heard his voice, I remember dropping everything and ran to the TV and I remember telling myself, don't let this be a one hit wonder. As a Hip-Hop fan before Eminem I was never impressed by any white person rapping, and I remember I was so shocked hearing Eminem because I could instantly hear that he was absolutely something else, and the timing was perfect. Biggie had died, 2pac died, and the Westcoast/Eastcoast thing was over, Hip-Hop was basically declining and nothing new was coming. Then just like that, BAM. Let's just say that there's a reason he is still relevant today, and still does 7 figure numbers. Eminem - Our House is still one of my favorite songs, and is a good representation of how amazing Eminem was.

  52. J.... ....

It's tracks like this that genuinely take me back to the actual days, when shit was lively as fuck & the scene was really building into what became the golden era! Only real ones know these type of tracks. Weed Lacer is another one that takes me back to being that 14 year old kid, the best times from then & a few years on from there!

  53. i.... ....

An oldie but goodie. Fred Durst on the chorus, before the beef!

  54. I.... G....

Middle-of-the-road? I lived in a middle-of-the-road house. Now I'm considered an extremist. Democrats are not allowed in my house.

  55. H.... ....

Thought I had heard every em song, guess not, hope I keep finding more tho.

  56. I.... ....

Mad how he got the madness ‘our house ‘ chorus!! What a genius !

  57. F.... P....

it is two poc shaker i just asked him. lmfao

  58. F.... G....

Also he says "Fred's house" in reference to Fred Durst and not friends house

  59. F.... G....

I first heard this song on a bootleg mixed tape, cassette tape on a cassette player

  60. S.... G....

"Our house in the middle of the street" love that part

  61. S.... G....

When you think you heard every eminem song. .. then this pops up in the feed ..love the song

  62. l.... I....

This was supposed to be on MMLP at some time

  63. F.... ....

How in the fuck have I not heard this before!? damn LOL this is hilarious! Eminem in his prime, taking the piss out of everything

  64. a.... ....

The Chorus has a creepy undertone, it’s kind of terrifying.

  65. D.... ....

    Beat sounds like Criminal

  66. S.... R....

  73. D.... D....

    Who here in 2019? xD

  74. K.... K....

the way fred durst sings "our house, in the middle of the street." is so... depressing.

  75. J.... G....

I searched "Our house eminem" looking for the song Slaughterhouse featured him on and found this

  76. J.... J....

I really was hoping that this will be officially released! Maybe with SSLP extended version which was released today! :/

    J.... J....

Jatin Jalandra Had the same thought. This was actually recorded after the SSLP was released (in a 1999 interview, one of Em’s producers says he’s already working on 3 songs for the MMLP - “Mom” “Kim” and “Our House”). So there’s always a chance that it’ll be on the extended version of the MMLP!

    J.... J....

    Laseander I would love that

  77. E.... ....

In the middle of our house

  78. D.... V....

Find it strange that there’s a song called our house by slaughterhouse featuring Eminem

  79. I.... G....

Sounds like my "family". American dream? More like American horror story.

  80. l.... b....
