This song reminds me that no matter how bad things get, they will get better. I've been on suicide's doorstep. Had two people pull me back. Then a friend told me, after her attempt, all suicide does is eliminate the possibility of things getting better.

September 26th, 2019: First country song I EVER listened to, coincidentally after my friend Michael Boatman-White took his own life after he was diagnosed with Diabetes. I never knew that this song was about suicide, but I will never forget Mike or this song. Prayers to all that have lost and continue to lose due to suicide.

I heard this song years ago. But only just now did I realized that the old guy stopped the young guy from committing suicide. The song takes on a whole other meaning.

You may look at me and not know it. Like he says but it's there. But you can get through this. Those out there who are wanting to die you can pull through ya'll you are loved by God!

I've had my moment however not suicide I was in a horrific car accident and no one believed I would live and I got my guidance from the other side of life and I'm here today

i tried to kill myself in 2009 i just couldnt act like everything was ok anymore i messaged my friend to tell my mom i loved her and that she was always a great friend and ignored my phone after she got ahold of my mom and just in the nick of time. later that year my life drastically changed my Uncle Mark died and then a 2 months and 15 days later my Papa died. i met my now husband and welcomed our son on December 27th 2010. this song always reminds me that if i would have ended my life i never would have met my husband or have my son.

You see them everywhere, people at traffic intersections holding signs asking for help. Next time take a good look, a honest look then ask yourself just how close are you from being in their situation? There are many people out there one paycheck away from standing on a corner asking for help. Many didn't ask to be in their situation but guys, shit happens and many times its at no fault of their own. These people are hungry, cold and have nowhere to lay their heads down at night. A very long time ago I found myself in a very simular situation, hungry and wondering how could I have gotten myself into this. I was not on drugs and I didn't touch a drop of alcohol even if I could. I got myself together and am now living a very comfortable life, I was one of the lucky ones. I guess all I'm asking is next time you see them dig deep in your pocket and soul and just help them out, anything helps even the smallest amount of change in your pocked or your pocket book. The reward you will experience will be the very thought that maybe tonight that person might go to sleep that night without their stomach aching in pain of emptyness. Just a little something to think about

It's really though being there when your family passes away, isn't it? I lost my great grandparents in 2012 and 2013. It was 4 years for my grandpa on August 5th, and it'll be 3 years for my grandma on December 27th. As someone who took care of them when their health began declining, I can say you're right; It's very very hard. And it hurts to be there, watching them. But there's a couple things everyone needs to remember:
1., They can feel you there. They find peace in knowing you're there with them.
And 2., It hurts being there, yes, but if you're not, you may come to regret it for the rest of your life.
Be strong, my friend. People need you.

Dear Mary, it's coming up on 4 years now.... I hope the years that have passed have eased the pain, sorrow and burden you have felt. I pray God has sent comfort your way. To heal.... To live... To love....
I still have my wife , but I fear she may not have me much longer. I have cancer. Well, I did, and they fixed me.... But I'm having the same symptoms I had when the first found the tumor. After 3 years, I'm afraid o might have cancer/tumor growing in my kidney. With all that I've been through in life, and at my age, I would be content with just letting it take me.... But I have a wife and kids.... So I gotta keep fighting, for them . I'm the sole financial provider . I often worry about my wife and kids and how they will live, after I'm gone. My youngest is only 3 and I really don't think I'll make it to his graduation. ☹️ Working in the petroleum industry and being a fireman have pretty much taken a toll on me and my body. I'm just hanging in there....
The whole point to my rambling can be summed up in 4 letters... LOVE. ....
See, I get up every day and work to provide for my family because I love them. I try to stay in good health so that I can be there for them as they grow, because I love them.... And they love me.....
You love your husband. He loves you deeply as well...... So for him, you've GOT to live and love again. Be happy. Feel happiness, joy, and laughter..... It's what your husband wants.... Because he loves you......and you should do these things, because you live him and you know that's what he would want.......

it took me so long to realize the old man, who was homeless, saved the guys life. The He realized after seeing the homeless man he had a lot more than he thought he did, and decided it wasnt worth it, their are people who are alive and have it a lot worse but they push through. This message is beautiful.

When I hear this song today (I so badly want to perform it as a cover song to maybe help someone else who is in their dark place) ... it so reminds me that I should be thankful for LIFE and to never give up hope ...
When I was in my dark place for the second time (a few weeks ago & within the last 4 years) I have hit rock bottom with losing all my material processions and my 2nd marriage, no job, trying to survive day to day with still no hope on the horizon. I have to remember how I felt when my dad was killed while performing his job, that I would never wish the pain & emptiness that I felt when I was 9 Years Old & that is what helps me from committing the sin that is not forgiven. I have a long road to recovery & I ask for anyone willing to pray for me to please do so, thank you.
