Elvis Presley - I Believe Lyrics
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
I believe, I believe
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word
Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe
Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

Elvis Presley I Believe Comments
This is a beautiful song. Great Elvis singing it. Ronnie McDowell sounds just like Elvis singing this.
Merry Christmas Mom, Merry Christmas Gram. I miss you both so much and wish we could go back. Nothings been the same since you left. Love you forever and ever.💖

Very hard song at 22 sounds like the master that's why he's King....
Average singer at best
Believe with all your tears.

All it takes is to close your eyes
Love will show the way

My Grandfather Sang This In The Church Choir!!!!
Second only to the original by Frankie Lane in 1953.
This is not a spiritual. This is a Frankie Laine song long before Elvis.

Best song ever !
Man, that´s another favorite song of mine. His gospel music is also sooo good. And what a voice! He was only 22 years old when he recorded this song in 1957. Show me another singer in that age who have the same strong, deep and soulful voice like Elvis! Never found! Till today. Elvis - Artist of the century!!!
My mother wanted this song played at her funeral as the family entered the church. Had never listened to this song before that time. Missing my mom

INSPIRING THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Within ALL WHO hears Elvis' rendition.
Simply superb!
The voice!!!!!! You think?
I do also.
Elvis loved his Lord. Elvis said that he, Elvis, was not the king. God is the King. And Elvis is with Jesus Christ forever!
+Cheryl Potter I am 54 born in 1960. My father bought these Elvis albums including songs like "I believe" and "Peace in the Valley" before I was born, my father deceased now but I still have the records. I find this very interesting in that Elvis is one of the very few entertainers who could pull this off. In the late 50's he was more popular with young people than anyone by far. Most entertainers would have to choose, you want to be "hip" or do you want to sing gospel? Go one way or the other. Elvis is one of the few entertainers of that era (Johnny Cash being another) who could do both and without losing popularity among the young. If anything, singing gospel only made him more popular and he didn't just do it later, he was doing it very early in his career. In the late 50's some may have thought it to be a risky move career-wise and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some discussion about whether he should even do it at all. Yet, there it is. There are others like Aretha Franklin, for example who wouldn't try it. Aretha was a gospel singer in church as a child and teen. Yet, after she hit it big, I don't recall her doing gospel. Much later there was contemporary Christian like Amy Grant. Don't get me wrong, I love Amy Grant. But she was never a rock star. She chose the direction she wanted to go (and to her credit) with music and good for her. Elvis is one of the very few entertainers who could do gospel and without it coming across as "nerdy" with young people. There is really no one else who could have pulled this off to the level that he did it. A huge mega rock star, and a gospel singer at the same time. The reason I believe was that people sensed his sincerity in the music. If people don't think you are sincere about it, it doesn't work. People could sense his sincerity in the gospel music and that is why he was able to do it and still be a rock star.
@Bobby Vaught: I'm reading your post 3 years later and its contents TOUCH my soul!!!
I love the King.
Out here in the South West our city properties recieve an allotment of water to keep the grass alive, otherwise known as irrigation. If a little catfish deposited on the lawn can survive overnight and half a day out of water, I believe that is a sign from God that
he is still in the miracle working business. I beieve it is a blessing to find a humming bird nest in the tree and observe the eggs and babies. To be there and watch the little ones take flight from their nest is a testament to the magic of creation.
I believe in miracles and for those "Counting on a Miracle" I believe for you. My God can do all things. All Things are possible "Only Believe." What he has done for others he will do for you. When God puts it in the heart of his servant to stand and give encouragement, guidance and strength to another, it is not necessary to pray and ask him to keep you from being indifferent. Divine Love does not know indiffence. It comes from a pure fountain of Love and flows freely and asks for
nothing in return. God Bless You and Keep You
"I believe - Elvis Presley"................... Such an underrated song!!
+janice lyons Totally agree. I was born in 1960 and my father had bought these Elvis gospel records before I was born. My father deceased in 1969 but I still have the records, old "45's." I remember even as a very young child in the late 60's practically wearing those records out and "I believe" was my favorite. What an inspiration, wow.
My condolences for your loss... And yes, Elvis's gospels are all very inspirational!! Glad that you've enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching!!
please stay as strong sister and believe..., Jesus loves and watches over us
Just simply fantastic THIS is Christian music
Bruce Smith yea you got a problem with it
NO where in this song is there any mention of Christ NO WHERE.....
Yep and it doesn't matter what we believe because we can believe without saying what we believe.....
You could play this on a Christian radio station, sure, but there is nothing specifically Christian about it. Christians do not own a monopoly on prayer or belief
The song was written to "give moral support" during the Korean War.
It is a song of faith and it is NOT a Christian song, especially since at least 3 of the 4 compress were Jewish.
"I Believe"
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
To show the way
I believe, I believe
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word
Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe
Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe...
I loved, love and will always love ...my one and only Elvis the King, the Legend
