Carlos Miguel Salas Hernandez Well, I’m a huge Elvenking fan so I’d say listen to them all! They have quite some diversity. Albums like Heathenreel, Wyrd and The Pagan Manifesto are all very folk/power metal-like while Red Silent Tides and Era have a more modern feel with some pop influences (especially Red Silent Tides). Then there’s the heavy oriented The Schyte and the all acoustic album Two Tragedy Poets. I have a hard time picking favorites but for me The Winter’s Wake actually takes the 1st place. Their new album is amazing as well. It’s like a mix of all their albums in one.

Elvenking has always been a mix of folk and emo-ish power metal, which is what I love about them. That said I hope they made an acoustic song for this album too, I love those duets.

I haven't heard much from Elvenking during past 7 years. Well, it's not exactly how I remember their music (especially Damna's voice, something changed or is it just me? And there is this cinematic feel to it). But do I like it? Hell yea! I'd add more violin and flute to my taste, but it's good as it is.

About violin and other acustic folk efforts this album will not disappoint you!

It seems his voice has now a rck oriented approach mixed with old way; in one word I would say his voice sounds different indeed but more mature and warm, an able interpreter of emotions.

You should listen to The Pagan Manifesto. You'll get a lot of violin and flute in that one (and it's in my opinion their best work to date). This new one is also quite good!

I haven't listened to them since Winter wake came out. It's def not my cup of tea anymore, but this one sounds quite similar to their old stuff and brings back memories. (Tbh, would never have guessed they'd still be around)

I think Damna has gone to a voice coach. He has always had a good natural voice obviously but to me it sounds obvious he's had training before ERA album as high notes sound freer and better released now.

Been an elvenking fan since heethenreel but I kind of miss the sycthe, two tragedy poets, red silent tides, and era times!!!! My 4 favorite elvenking albums!!! But this is awesome too...

Paul Galeana Heathenreel and red silent tides are my favorite but this sounds so much more promising than era imo.

Heathenreel, Wyrd, and Pagan Manifesto are my favorites, but yeah this is a fair bit better than era.

When I saw the band and singer with the corpsepaint I expected black metal....not this....but this is faaaaaar from bad, I like it!!!

It's not corpsepaint, it's a sort of Celtic war paint (or some semblance of it, at least).

They do have some extreme elements in their sound, however. For example, check out the last minute of "The Voynich Manuscript," sounds just like Cradle of Filth. Actually, check out that entire song.
