It's a song of mourning - quite fitting considering the fate of the ancestral Celts.

How lovely that Eluveitie are giving us a taste of their spirit and language, too - it inspired me to learn as much Gaulish as I could.

Pay attention when you look for the lyrics of this music most of the time it is filled with fault, even if the language died from dead woman the faults are for example " good wind " translated "hello" it is "Suauelo" and not Brief "Suouelo" pay attention!

@Ria Iectimaros Hm, no. Nobody today can say to "know Gaulish". The ancient celtic tongues (all of them) have been killed by Roman cultural egemony which forbad each and every aspect of celtic culture and civilization, tongue being no exception. Ancient celtic dialects survive still today across central Europe, in local speech lexicon and grammar rules. But as for the Gaulish tongue, as it was spoken from the Pyrenees to Adriatic Sea, it is mostly forgotten.
But, standing on ancient stone inscriptions, some Middle Age vocabulary salvaged in monasteries and to careful interpretation of Roman sources, we can reasonably approximate a reconstruction, a reenactment one should say, of this forbidden tongue. In academic world (universities) a fairly complete version of Gaulish is now available to experts: that is the tongue used by Eluveitie.  
But, mind, this is what we suppose is Gaulish or something (quite possibly) close to it. The real tongue, its spelling, grammar, phonetics, are and remain uncertain.

@Deep Blue I knew of that much. What i meant is at least speculatively how much the OP knows. I myself am making a small religious project of at least trying to construct a type of proto-celtic, if not Gaulish, language.

Too bad one cannot enjoy a pure masterpiece without refering to him being pagan/christian/muslim/european/american etc... We are all human beings, we shall all stand equal and united, especially when we share such passion for such a magnificient band/music. Just look at the number of "fights" in Eluveitie's comments sections caused by this "origin" thing, and same is happening in our world, in a different scale, and look at all the suffering it's causing.

While I agree with your sentiment, when a culture has been systematically wiped out, nationalism and revivalism is totally justified in the name of anti-imperialism and justice.

@ballandpaddle Celtic and Italic languages are quite near from each other. The Celto-Italic languages group is like the Germanic group (Scandinavian, Anglo-saxon and Continental German languages)

@ballandpaddle as far as i know, its an adapted version of Gaulish that they kind of mashed together themselves. making it hard to translate or speak, seeing as how they basically did it themselves. but thats only what ive heard, i could be wrong.

Wow!!! so great, so emotive, absolutely beautiful song!! this to me is why Metal artists are the best modern day musicians!! you don't get this kinda diversity in any other form of music, bands who can be pretty heavy at times know how to embrace their gentle side, and lets face it we all have a gentle side :) no one here can say you don't love playing with puppies and kittens hehehe so damn cute!!

sry aba ich kann verstehen warum die kirder-brüder gegangen sind... wenn eluveitie ez auf acoustic machen... was sich zwar auch super anhört... aba nur acoustic is halt schade... die alten metal-lastigen lieder waren halt kraftvoller... aba liegt ja wie immer im auge des betrachters =)

yeah it is nice music, i just hope they do more songs like inis mona, uis elveti and your gaulish war in there next album or something. this isnt bad i just dont want them to change completely

yes this is a little softer than there usual stuff but still good find a place for it. there alot of heavy stuff out there, this makes a nice change. this works well as backgroud music when doing other things

i think that spirit was the better album. Just coz they were more skilled that they were when they recorded Ven, but they didn't have sold out yet, so their sound wasn't influenced by market! Every album is good, and this one has celtic and ambient sounds I like so much. I like Omnos too, thought I see that's a commercial song... They did no song I don't like... I'm creating a Folk Black Metal project playin accordion and whistle... I hope you all will listen to our music XD XD XD

when i just heard omnos, i nearly shit myself, not cos its a good song, beacuse i thought they were trying to go main stream, but im glad that its just there making an acoustic album, but moar inis mona!!
