I met the bass player for this band while he was temporarily working the merch table for Korpiklaani back in 2009 in Budapest, Hungary. We talked about the bass part in this song and the little breakdown at 3:30 and how much fun it is to jam to. Very cool dude!

@Tremirenes Their influences go back to the gaulish, which is modern day France. Anna explains it in a interview she did a couple of years ago. She said Celtic came from Gaul/France http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaul. I know it may not be entirely true, but here it is.

@Walking the Shadows Well, historicaly that is true (not entirely, but the first bigger European concentration of Celts was in the teritory of France, but was mostly destroyed by Romans. Only Bretony is still in some way gaulish... But even the name of the band is after Helvietans, celts from region of today swizerland [the archeologists are finding items of celtic origin even in austria and poland in amount, that suggests there were a celtic settlements there as well]). But band is using, and is not hiding with this, some traditional melodies of celtic origin as a base for some songs (which for me is awesome scince i love them). I recognize the melody used here from smewhere but i do not know the name and that is why my question was asked.

It is based on music meant to be danced in Brittany. The dance is called Hunter Dro.
