Elton John - I've Seen That Movie Too Lyrics
I can see by your eyes you must be lying
When you think I don't have a clue
Baby you're crazy
If you think that you can fool me
Because I've seen that movie too
The one where the players are acting surprised
Saying love's just a four letter word
Between forcing smiles, with the knives in their eyes
Well their actions become so absurd
So keep your auditions for somebody
Who hasn't got so much to lose
`Cause you can tell by the lines I'm reciting
That I've seen that movie too
Stop twinkling your star like you do
I'm not the blue print for all of your B films
Because I've seen that movie too

Elton John I've Seen That Movie Too Comments
Ahh such passion, almost forgot about it
In my opinion one of Elton's/Bernie Taupin's most freaked out and (Dare I Say It) buzz friendly songs also hear "Madman Across The Water" and "All the Young Girls Love Alice" if you like this one.
So keep your auditions for somebody
Who hasn't got so much to lose
`Cause you can tell by the lines I'm reciting
That I've seen that movie too ..
Belinda, this is our favourite song, remember? Wherever you've been, I've loved you through all these years.
I'm sure that Elton re visited this song when he wrote sorry seems to be the hardest word.
Love this story. 👍💟
Blues For Baby And Me?.... Interesting. Grand Ma's doing good for 84. She needs some help to fix her barn. Poor old girl, she needs a hand to run the farm. I dunno know! These songs go so far back. How did we ever get here? Time just flies....
A 40 year old song that is still so awesome!!
TOO GOOD for radio. Beyond Perfect.
The best of many Yellow Brick Road Classics!!
I got the sheet music book and wore it out. my parents wanted to foster my music abilities, little did they know they would get hours and hours of GYBR, Loud and Proud.
"Music is Love in Search of a Word." There was this poster in our band room....and it's true. The Music of our time becomes the magical glue that holds us together through our lives. We had some of the finest musicians writing and performing their craft in the late 60's through the 70's. Thank you. We're losing them....hand on to the music.
Brilliant album.
Dancing on this song at 16 years old in Beirut 1975, while hearing bombs exploding, we couldn’t care less...
Canzone mitica , album mitico. Il lavoro sul pianoforte mi fa venire i brividi.
This song is so sexy wow
Amazing work.. Been listening to this album since 1974. My friend brought it to Summer camp and opened my eyes. It changed my life forever.
One still feels a slight guilt for stealing this album from a packed-out Virgin MegaStore in Oxford St. London on a very busy November's day , 1988.
Sorry Mr.Branson!
.......actually, come to think of it, which I do , on reflection I'm not in the slightest bit repentant of that particular sin , Branson, you great big grinning gimp-monkey❗😉
🎩
Such a good song up there with someone saved my life tonight 👍👍
You know that feeling when you play song and like 3 seconds in you know it's masterpiece? Well that's exactly what this song is like.
this man is a genius
So keep your auditions for somebody, who hasn't got to much to lose, cause you can tell by the lines I'm reciting, I've seen that movie too!
best album sleeve ever (this and Captain Fantastic), such a lost treasure, first cd's now e-music, the art is gone
Totally underrated song.
One of his MANY BEST songs ever! I'll love his music till the day I die.
Since 1973 I've never been without this album. First on 8 track, then on cassette, on to album and today I have 2 CD's. Oh yes, couldn't imagine not turning back the hands on this clock!
I think if you were to do a mass survey of Elton John fans and ask: If you were allowed to have one and only one of his albums which would it be? , Goodbye Yellow Brick Road would be number one by about 20 to one over anything else
I remember hearing this whole album booming from the neighours' house when I was 11. Over and over. Soundtrack of my youth. Lucky 70s kids.
An overlooked masterpiece - and in my view his best.
I wore out the vinyl grooves of this record in the 70s, but the real groove will live forever
I've got the CD Deluxe Edition but still have the original album. The first record is slightly transparent and mauve, the second violet. Bought it in a Woolworth or something like that, while in Birmingham to improve my english (I was 16). Brought it back to France. In the same suitcase, I also had Band On The Run (Paul McCartney & Wings). This one was in a bright yellow vinyl. Think Aladdin Sane was in the suitcase the previous year ( a first UK edition with, for the last time in Bowie discography, the location where he wrote the songs on the stickers in the middle of the record following the title of each tracks). And so many followed the same way (albums were very expensive in France, you could have six of them in England for the price of one in France, and I saved my money all the year to spend it in your shops). England was a bit exotic in many ways (the boys with teir baggy trousers) but what a great time we had in the 70s.
THE BEST SONG REGINALD KENNITH DWIGHT EVER WROTE ....ITS 4 REAL!!!!! ESPECIALLY NOW IN DAYZ!!!!
Love the second verse...
“It’s a habit I have
I don’t get pushed around”
Always loved this album
This song has such a great chord progression. It uses a lot of split chords, which is where the root note of the chord isn't the bass note - typiaclly instead of being the root, it's the third or fifth, but there are others. One heard here is D over Fsharp. F sharp is the third of the D major chord. It's a common enough split chord but it sounds so much more 'unexpected' than when used in other songs, because of it's placement. I'll paste the chords and lyrics below if anyone is curious. The other one that's brilliant in my opinion is the use of C G/B Am G B7sus/F# B7 (maybe the Am is F/A I can't remember right now) but either way.. brilliant. Note: all this rambling I just did presumed the song was in E minor, but it's actually in F minor- shows what I know.

When I hear this song one person always comes to mind.... Veronica Lake.
Love the intro and bass drum and the slow tempo with words long over looked.
SAVE YOUR DRAMA 4 YOUR MAMA IVE GOT BETTER THINGS 2 DO!!
Gosh I love this album ❤️
I'm 66 now so me and Elton have grown older together. Love this song
Still sounds good in 2019
The 'other', more free form stations played this, or the entire side (album). 'twas the end of the fun, graduation day. and I lost some interest in the work by now.
the notes in between the lyrics ,OMG can it get any sweeter. The passion!!!

Definitely one of the greatest albums EVER!
True Roxie. One of the best albums i ever bought. There will never be another Elton John. The last of a diying breed. All the best have gone. Only Elton left. Chin chin love..its sad.
All those summer road trips in the 70s. 14 hour days in the Pontiac station wagon. Every one of them featured this guy. My parents did not have a clue. I was in grade school. I had no idea, either! There was no channel surfing when this guy surfaced. Some of my most fond memories...
Dee Murray, one of the most underrated bassists in rock history.
Underated
how did i miss on this album
This is so well aged. The entire album.
Wonderful music..
Love everything about this somewhat moody song....
Simply one of the best songs missed by the public. One of my top favorites.
This and Captain Fantastic are Elton's best albums ahead of Tumbleweed Connection- all masterpieces
This and the Elton John album are my number ones, followed by all the rest in the 70's, including Friends soundtrack (bar Rock of the Westies -what's with that?) to Too Low for Zero - after that - mmmm.
Who's excited for Rocketman!!!? Also, this album is before my time, but what a fantastic album, and this and Grey Seal are perhaps my favorite. It's funny how the cuts that don't ever get played are almost always better than the stuff that gets OVERPLAYED.
One of the best albums i ever bought. There will never be another Elton John.....
WOW I FORGOT HOW AMAZING MY MUSICAL CHILDHOOD WAS
Next time you listen to this, concentrate on the drummer. Pure genius.
Lol, as a teenager I wrote out the drum part (back in the 70s). Best album ever.
In my Top 3 Eltøn songs.
cut the bull sweet heart I ve seen that movie too and I can tell that you is a nasty hoe and a dirty little girl...
Wow how many great songs like this one has sir reginald done, never b another elton john.
The ride of a lifetime, like a fighter jet pilot coming in below black storm clouds. master composer
YES its really outstanding the guitar solo WOW
This album takes me back to my school days..... Still epic...
This should be the end credit song for Rocketman.
Música da porra!
One of the best albums i ever bought.
1 desert island disc to choose from?...no hesitation!!!
Maybe the best song on the album.
I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT so haunting
Nigel olsson was awesome
Elton John one of the greatest genius from the last century
Rumor has it that Elton would write the music first and Bernie Taupin would then add the lyrics afterwards. It's usually done the other way, Lyrics first, music second.
I still think this is one off his greatest but ive seen the saucers is up there. xyshark78x
I still have the original and all the liner notes in pristine condition
This has to be in in the Rocketman, how ironic would it be?? And it's a wonderful song.
It has a such a James Bond feel, I love it
Back when a artist created!
Such a strange sophistication here
One thing that I think isn't discussed enough is what a phenomenal deep cut artist that Elton John was, in his prime. Particularly because he, himself, used to protest too much about his music being "disposable" pop - a concept his critics were only too happy to dog-pile on - his non-single tracks are often slept on. This song is a great example, but there are just tons of them. On this album, songs like Harmony, This Song Has No Title, Grey Seal, the list of indelible melodies could go on and on. Just an amazing writer.
De las 10 mejores canciones de Elton?
great work.
1973- perhaps the best year ever for music. Love the sound of Nigel's drums...
Sultry, sexy, and all that...
The Yellow Brick Road album is truly a masterpiece.
I always thought this was the best song on a double album of incredible songs. Elton John and Bernie Taupin really created one of the best pieces of musical work ever with this album.
Man if any of you ever wondered what influence Leon Russell had on Elton just listen to this song, man its got leon all over it yet Elton makes it his own.
Great stuff. I'm so thankful I live in a time that we have the internet and everything that's ever been recorded in the history of mankind is available to me, on a whim, at the touch of a fingertip. Best time to be alive will always be today.
One of the best songs off this entire record, and there are many. Bernie Taupin is one of the greatest lyricists ever.
Amen brothers and sisters. You are in the cathedral of EJ and it is good. The album is a seminal work that, as a young teen, propelled me on a life of musical exploration and appreciation.
Elton john, might be TBE...
Can't speak for actions... Good song though..
I’ve loved this song ever since listening to my dad’s record collection in the mid 90s, when I was twelve. And now, with the nightmare that has been my divorce giving me all the time in the world to ponder my life up until this point, this song is back once again. Except now, with life experience, with his lends another perspective
The guitar solo appears to be a pedal steel with volume swelling.
One of my all time favourite Elton songs. Criminally underrated.
I love you Elton 😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💜💜💘💘💘💘
Thank you - This song is beautiful
The Captain and the best band!!!!
THIS deserves the 300 million views that so many lesser songs have. smh
As a kid, I heard it wrong and thought it was "Sing that Looney Tune". LOL!
When Elton John was Elton John.
So painfully gorgeous...
Good music..bad times..
I have heard Elton complimenting others in the business, often to my surprise. I have this idea that he has just a vague idea of the quality of the music he has produced.
I wish I still had my Quiet Storm to play this jam! Peace!
