Elton John - 2 Fingers Of Whiskey Lyrics
I cheated just to get on by
Yea, I cheated just to get on by
If I can't save my sinning ways
Gonna keep on getting high
I'm sleeping off a weekend drunk
When I'm awake I'm looking back
At all the ships I sunk
Two fingers of whiskey
Good old fashioned rye
Wish I were bound for glory
And prohibition dry
Two fingers of whiskey
To keep drownin the devil
Living in me
Living in me
I'm hanging on the hook of the moon
I'm hanging on that crescent moon
If I don't get out of this bottle
Lord you're gonna see me soon
Just like a dog, I wanna howl
Like an old dog, I wanna howl
Used up all of my aces
Who is gonna save me now?
Two fingers of whiskey
Good old fashioned rye
Wish I were bound for glory
And prohibition dry
Two fingers of whiskey
That is all I need
To keep drownin the devil
Living in me
Living in me
Two fingers of whiskey
Good old fashioned rye
Wish I were bound for glory
And prohibition dry
Two fingers of whiskey
That is all I need
To keep drowning the devil
Living in me
Living in me
Living in me

Elton John 2 Fingers Of Whiskey Comments
This honestly sounds like something that could be on Tumbleweed Connection. Elton John/Bernie Taupin/Jack White

Really good programe and nas was great as well . My only complaint is we need another with other big stars in it . Never thought I would enjoy it but it was great
Analog piano sounds good. I wish Elton would go back to recording/performing this way.
this song gets over way too quickly
Floored.
oh that blues in Elton's voice in "I wanna howl" - this was composed right on the occasion, and performed flawlessly.
This is very very good
Sounds fine!
So amazing, love them both💕
Heard this on Cerys Matthews BBC radio 2 blues show.
Amazing!
This took Elton just 2 hours from seeing Bernie's words to this noise here!!
The man is a living legend
18 fingers of whisky,
good old fashioned rye. . .
Elton John and Jack White working together is something I never thought I needed.... so great.
Amazing song, loved it from the very first time! Simple and so wonderful music. Just a piano and a guitar is all you need. And two fingers of whiskey as well 😉
Fucking legends!
Jack, you should listen to me sometimes
Strange seeing Jack White and Elton John together
Their voices actually sound great together
Wow! This is legend
I was the nr 590 to find it perfect !!!! My God !!!! Feels like being at the Delta Blues ......down the desert road......at the crossroads.... blues in my veins !!!! Piano + guitar = ecstay....
Great summit
Ícones 🎵🎶🎹🎻🌹
Anyone knows what is the model of this beautiful guitar?
K-152 Stratotone (maybe)
they should make an album together!
That would be so awesome
With Bernie Taupin on board to co-write the songs, oh hell yes!
Please make it so Sir Elton!
Definitely!!
Elton’s sequence in American Epic, nestled amongst others by artists as diverse as Willie Nelson and Nas, shows him composing the music to a newly delivered lyric from Bernie Taupin and then recording the song in one go, via a single antique microphone on to a reassembled electrical sound recording system from the 1920s (“I thought it was an espresso machine!” laughed Bernie upon seeing the device for the first time), straight to disc.
Tom Markel No. Way.
It good to see Elton doing music worth listening to again. back to his R&B roots. not today's R&B, real R&B
Elton John can be such a prima Donna but is so so talented...I guess that's why we love his work..
this is awesome!
Two of the best playin' together! <3
So simple and raw yet so brilliant! A fantastic groove and a great performance, this is pure gold!
cool duo
amazing
This is epic. Omg I love this.
Two of my favourites 😍
What an incredible performance with a new Taupin Lyric and recorded like in the 30 's Incredible P.B.S. series must see for musicians !!
