Electric Six - The Worm In The Wood Lyrics
I don't trust creatures who live inside mirrors and wait for me
I just wanna know what I look like in the morning
Save your tears for the gallows, babe
It's good to see you but I do see through you
You can't afford another mirror to look into
This could be the last night I ever see
(The same holds true for you)
This could be the last song I ever sing
(Tell me baby, can you feel it too?)
'Cos the end of times is an interest of mine
'Cos the line to meet your maker is never a straight line
Walk away when you get sick of it all
And your desire crashes into a wall
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I don't let demons control me when I'm on the highway
I just keep them close if I need to scare you
Save your tears for the gallows, babe
It's good to see you but I do see through you
Save your fears for when you're really afraid
You can't afford another mirror to look into
This could be the last night I ever see
(The same holds true for you)
This could be the last song I ever sing
(Tell me baby, can you feel it too?)
'Cos the end of times is an interest of mine
'Cos the line to meet your maker is never a straight line
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together
I know you feel better when we're taped together

Electric Six The Worm In The Wood Comments
I hate to say it, but I feel this album is a weak entry compared to all of their early stuff. They excel at dance hits with comic novelty. But this feels like a washed up 80's band tried its hand at a few different genres, power ballads and the like, went with a kooky "satanic music" theme, and half-way committed to being funny. It seemed like their old stuff just SLAMMED music-wise, and the lyrics were stripped down to the most simplistic elements, only leaving stuff that tickled you with delight, yet was also so damn rhyme-able and singable. This album had a lot of elaborate wordplay that felt forced. Clever, yes. But awkward in music. And worst of all, it was set to music that just didn't get there in terms of "I can't help but dance to this."
Oh come on, e6 did indeed have some insane stuff like mcdonnelzzz and others, but this album like any other has some great stuff and some that are not such hits... This song in partic has amazing instrumental... They have been making music for quite some years now and you cant expect them to just release insanity with every song they do... No band ever did have nothing but turbo hits, every group had releases that were more and less spectacular than their other releases...
also, witches burning, bride of the devil and hades ladies are fucking amazing... And yeah, they do feel like an 80's washed up band, but they had that vibe since their early beginnings, its exactly what gives their music the charm it has, its not fake to the core like shit that came after 2000's...

Ok this is good. Yeah
How does this not have more comments?
Because E6 is the greatest band that no one has ever heard of!
I heard about them once, and then I never heard them again until I heard them again.
Awesome song!
These (once n a while) western/dark guitar/ slightly smoky, yet modern edited/ studio sound type songs E6 throws at us are true classics
Beautiful
Love it!!!
amazing song, hope they play it live
This is their best "serious" song in years. The whole album is beautiful, hup the fucking bais
I was really surprised by the sound, in a good way. Haven't lost it a bit.
Electric Six ages like a fine wine.
