Its weird, i only got this last week on cassette. I had heard that it was the worst elo album hence why it took me so long to hear it, but listening through the album i see that isn't really an insult, being the worst elo album is like being the worst beatle, you're still a bloody beatle!

Forever takes your breath away... I'd liked to talk about it, try to understand...

My dad had this album, beautiful album, passed down to me.

This is easily in my top 10 Elo songs even though there are so many amazing ones!
The sax solo and the outro vocals are what really stand out to me in this song!! Everything is so well placed in ELO songs, both vocally and instrumentally.

Forgotten how good this album was...

A beautiful song, with heart felt lyrics. The album stayed under the radar of many fans, but this song is right up there with the best Jeff Lynne ever wrote. Between 1.06 - 1.15 the song is so so sad, enough to bring tears every time I hear it. And that sax solo near the end is fantastic (and I'm not even a sax fan). The whole thing is a wonderful piece of music.

I am just now discovering this album. I have  a strange nostalgia when I hear music from 1986 and I find a lot of my favorites in that year and to find ELO has this album from 86~ Electric Light Orchestra~BALANCE OF POWER! I just keep finding gold!

To me it's one of their finest albums :) Every song is perfect on this album

If I'm not mistaken, this song is about the breakup of ELO...even the album cover shows the split...such a difficult time and yet Jeff Lynne was still able to create songs that years later are as meaningful as they were when I first heard them. Jeff Lynne is a genius and in my opinion, he has not received the recognition he deserves.

Susan Brown His participation in Travelling Wilburys is more worth than the Nobel Price! But your'e right! Overall underrated as hell!

Oh man, all I can think about when I hear this song is the ELO split....my 17 year old stepdaughter Stella heard this song and said, Omg, Bev!!!,when I played it for her last weekend, she insists,it is about him and Jeff's(ELO) split 🙁 And my husband is a graphic artist and he says, Kudos because I totally missed that split reference in the picture!!🖒🖒🖒🎧🎧🎧🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶

I always hear Roy Orbison at 3:30.

I hear it too during some songs where Jeff goes for those big notes Roy was famous for. I like to think Jeff wears sunglasses to be like his idol.
