Hearing this song on Elementary reminded me of a scene in Breaking Bad where "DLZ" by TV On The Radio is played. Both songs appear at the very end of the respective episodes. I guess the singers share some similarity to their voices.

First I took it as the kids were intimidating him; he's older but vulnerable, while children, traditionally vulnerable, are rough. The lines "When the people on the street/Start looking like silhouettes" remind me a bit of the Doors "People are strange/When you're a stranger."
The kid shooting him with an arrow while he sat contemplating made me wonder if that was meant to be like cupid; the kids being harbingers of painful memories (presumably the day before + woman) that he has to overcome.

When I've felt like i'm speaking a different language to people lately, I just want to tell them to listen to this song!
Wonderful song and brilliant video- it fits the song perfectly. The aggressive little kids just sum up that feeling you can get sometimes of things that should be innocuous actually making the world feel scary and unsafe. Love the sad face while lyrics are saying 'good mood' and the little victory dance at the end + the girl & umbrella reappearing from peach blossom- genius!

Wondering if Eels is perhaps upset about more "vetted" musicians being ignored by younger noobs. Why do young musicians get the spotlight?! I cant think of ANY other respectable professions that generally spotlight younger people as being MORE talented. I make music and lose motivation based off the music biz "young" target market. Makes me feel like music is more for young people than older... which is stupid. The average age of a good first-published writer is 37... wtf... seriously?
