For the last step to becoming a Marine in Marine Corps boot camp, you have to do this thing called the Crucible, which is a 54 hour training exercise thats excruciatingly mentally and physically strenuous. For the last bit of that exercise, you walk 9 miles from where you were training back to where your barracks are and this open concrete graduation deck where you earn your Eagle Globe and Anchor. Through the last bit of that entire hike back, from between me being a recruit and becoming a Marine, I was chanting this song in my head on loop. Thanks for helping me make it EDEN :)

This song hits so hard for me. For years I’ve been not okay. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve gotten better and this song always pulls on my heartstrings cause it reminds me of the struggles that I’ve faced and how far I’ve come to get better.

This song hits home rn it’s nearly midnight and I’m overthinking and having anxiety and jitters cause I drank too much coffee cause I felt drained and depressed cause I found out I’m gonna have to rehome my dog that’s been with me through all the bullshit I’m going through right now. I was kicked out of my house so my abusive ex stepdad could live there with 20 minutes notice. I lost most if not all of my family and I’m homeless with no job. And I’m staying 3 hours away from my fiancé whom I used to see every day and it breaks my heart every time I have to leave him. I’m 19 I shouldn’t have to deal with all of this. I’ve had everything ripped away from me for no fault of my own.

But I’m also in a lot of pain from caffeine worsening my cramps that I have from stress 😔

The first time I listened to this song was about 4 year ago. A little bit after I met a boy named Ronnie who, I didn't know it at the time, but would come to be one of the most important people in my life.
This song didn't mean too much to me until I experienced a painful breakup, and while listening to this song surrounded by my friends and by Ronnie, it made me realize that what really mattered was the people who I loved.
Soon I spent my entire day with that boy, from start to end, with this song on repeat the whole day.
Me and him have hit many (too many) bumps in the road, as our relationship became very destructive after that first year... But yet I still love him. And this song still represents hope for me.

This song holds a really special place in my heart because my brother just went to college about a month ago and he used to play this song all the time in his car when him and I were driving to high school. Even just by listening to this song only one time today made me cry a lot. I even cried writing this comment a couple times. Dang, I really miss my brother. I hope he does well in college.
