mcbrion1951 This is actually produced in Philly under the Philly Sound. Eddie, although still on Motown, had two albums produced in Philly, using the same Philly producers that pushed that Philly sound. Yep. This was a jam though.

@reggie44 Jermaine Jackson also cut a Philly side around '75 or '76 called "Good For The Gander" that remained in the vaults until it's appearance on the UK comp, "The Spirit of Philadelphia Vol. 1" in 2002. Well worth checkin' out.

Believe it or not, the Eddie Kendricks album this song is taken from ("He's A Friend") is the only example I'm aware of that a Motown artist recorded in Philly, with the MFSB musicians doing their usual excellent job!
Another Tidbit: The Temptations left Motown for Atlantic in the mid 70's. The group went into Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia and was produced by Baker, Harris & Young production team. Sadly, the album went nowhere.
