Eddie Cochran - Love Again Lyrics

I'll never love again
Love again, love again
Oh, oh, oh, oh

I'll never love again
Love again, love again
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I'll never

Won't you listen to my plea
Come back, back to me
My darling, dearest one
I'm in misery

You went away and left me
Didn't even say goodbye
Left me so lonesome
I wish I could die

I was a fool
I fell in love with you, mmm, with you
How was I to know
Your love wasn't true, not true

Love again, love again
Love again
Oh, oh, oh, oh

I'll never love again
Love again, love again
Oh, oh, oh, oh

I'll never love again
Love again, love again
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I'll never love again

  8. F.... L....

This song was written by his girlfriend who was with him in the car crash in which he died.

    F.... L....

His girlfriend, Sharon, survived the accident because Eddie put his body over her head to protect her. His head then hit the roof and door of the car, causing massive brain damage. God bless them both...finally reunited after all these years.

  17. B.... W....

  18. L.... ....

@albertanglo It must have been an amazing feeling to live when this music was around. Eddie's amazing. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll

Love Again was put out as the 'A' side actually, and Liberty was surprised when Summertime Blues dominated. When I was in love with my first girlfriend from 1961-1964, this was 'our song', along with 'Runaway' by Del Shannon. It is a strange and somewhat spooky arrangement and unlike anything heard in that era. I have just recorded an album of my own songs called MYSTERY TRAIN. Many were inspired by Eddie's material. "Love Again" was originally the B side to the 45 single "Summertime Blues" on Liberty Records in the US and on London in the UK. "Summertime Blues" was Eddie Cochran's highest charting single in the US, peaking at no. 8 in 1958.

Hearing this song again brought back fond memories of being on holiday in a remote village in the North of Scotland and finding a cafe that had a juke box with all the essential music of the late 50's...I think we played the flip sides more than the more popular "A" sides.

  23. A.... ....

Written by Eddie's lady friend, Sharon Sheeley.

I remember listening to this song on vinyl when I first got into Rock 'n' Roll as a teenager in the late 70's. It is one of those love songs that is not often heard on the radio or elsewhere but when played justs melts my heart. Thank you Eddie!
