Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon (Transformed) Lyrics
Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him, him
In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
The killing moon
Will come too soon
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him, him
Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him, him
To him
La la la
La la
La la
La la la
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself
You give yourself
You give yourself
To him
To him

Bryce says Hi
Saw em last night in Wakey ... excellent !!
Part of my life 👍
Is there a piano tutorial for this??
Why so many dislikes??? But either way, it’s beautiful ❤️
I like this version the best.
Wow ! What can I say ?...Pile of Shit.
This screams Radiohead. It would fit perfectly on A Moon Shaped Pool.
Space oddity played backwards..
Wonderfull song.
Endless
hey its hannah. hannah baker.
I actually felt bad for Bryce this season...I am glad we got to see a more human side to him than in the first and second season...
Yes, I agree. We saw a whole different side to him and he did'nt deserve to die, even if he raped girls, its not as bad as killing a person, which is worse.
I had empathy for him, but not forgiveness.
Nobody loves you,
Nobody likes you,
Nobody thinks you’re smart,
Nobody thinks you’re cool,
Nobody feels you,
Nobody wants to be your friend,
But don’t worry, my name is nobody.
Poor Bryce💔
Season 3 13 reasons whyyy 😭😭
"They're all your tapes"
They are all your tapes
Absolute masterpiece with the piano...it's actually the piano that makes it the masterpiece it is !
two things: one.. your tape is coming up. and two.. theyre all your tapes.
He didnt deserve to die like that
13 reasons why.
@Agnel Jeo I totally agree.
Bryce Walker 😢
Bryce tinha se arrependido porra 😭
I think Bryce had the potential to be good and was trying his best to be,they shouldn’t have killed him off...
Peerless orchestration superior too the vocals.
Marvelous arrangement
Platonic
Pathetic. The guy can't sing any more. Red thumb.
Sings better than Jagger!
As you're so fond of the comparative, I'll tell you where I spot the difference: With the old version anytime you listened to the song and looked at the moon at night you could see Ian singing and maybe Will and Les playing the balalaika (or was it the ukulele?).
With the new one, you can only see Ian.
Thanks EATB. Never Stop.
I love the original but this is great too! McCulloch is a great vocalist! A magic song!
To all the ney sayers: Who gives a fling about your negative critics, tbh nobody. If you don't like it, go listen to something else, mebbe the original, but keep your negative opinion where it belongs, nowhere. It's their song and they are entitled to present it to the world as they please.
Not bad. But... how long until we see this in movie/tv/video game trailers?
Yeah, it's for old people alright. Sounds like a lament. Like it, but don't really want to be thinking that my idols are on death's door. Hopefully they're not.

Amazing, The Killing Moon (reinvented) is a classical masterpiece, when I heard it on car radio recently I had to search it online, his voice is incredible and so poignant;
Under a blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
Under a blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

There is a Gammon of cunts missing the point in this version. Its throws a different sonic light that pulls stronger in the piano structure, brings the lyrics closer, more personal. An epic tune that will last forever. Do not be shallow, to compare it to the original is a mute point. Dont be a fucking demented cunt. Settle in.
Put the lights out, sit in an armchair and crank this up...……..goosebumps
I'm sorry but in general lines this album it's a thumbs down for me. I love EATB so much, but this "transformed" songs (destroyed songs), now sound like AOR. Today a part of me has died.
I think Ian always sung this didn’t he?
Nope.... Not digging this...
Duke Togo
your testicles are in your heart, that’s why. sorry!
*Ian* can still get hard and blast a vagina. Long live his penis!!
The Bunnymen playing with New Order was my first concert back in 1987 when I was only 15 so this band has always been special. The original version of this had edge and urgency. However, this version is a disappointing sappy, overcooked "adult contemporary" ballad. You can't just blame it on age. WIRE still have it. Go see them live and you'll see what I mean. The Fall still had it till the end. I've listened twice and found it cringe-y both times.

Heard Ian with Nihal on the radio last week and heard this. Just don't know. I wanted so badly for Ian to mention Pete and his part in the original Bunnymen, but he didn't. That hurts.
The soundtrack to my marriage.
Ian has always said that the original killing moon is the best song ever, so now it's nice to know whats the second best song ever is
missing dad too much...
Hauntingly beautiful. Love the bunnymen, wonderful transformation.
Cool Music!
I like it. But I feel it misses out the Drama and Gravitas of the original.
when it first started I was like, eh not really, but as it played, I started to come around. the original song is classic, this is a mellower version for those quieter moments. the vocals could have been smoother but I guess we can't expect his voice to sound as young as it used to be. it's an interesting concept for the album, revisiting and reworking his songbook.
i want to cry out loud and celebrate for this brilliant transformation thank you Echo , thank you Liverpool , Greece is with you, always and forever! PS, The Fans of Max Richter will love this new version! i hope that will be used as a soundtrack in HBO series "WESTWORLD" , enough said, thank you red lads!
they're a lounge act now--face it.
Es otra canción pero me gusta
Get intouch with spacex,
They want a musician to
Send to the moon, along with
Other artists. For real.
im liking these. i enjoy ians singing ,its more foggy.
I don't understand the negativity over those re-workings. They're not supposed to compare to the originals, they're just what they say they are; reworkings, different perspectives to classic tunes. I'm giving this album a chance, will splash out the cash for it.
Absolutely brilliant. Those looking to the past deny reality of time or ownership in this case, I think. (I do miss the guitar) Absolutely brilliant.
People can age gracefully so does this song. Beautiful.
Está bien mala esa versión.
I absolutely LOVE this! I have been with these guys since Crocodiles in 1980. This type of music absolutely transformed me. The Killing Moon was released in '84 and I love it and still listen to it a good deal today even. I was so excited when I saw they had a new album coming out with a reworking of their hits. This song didn't disappoint. Now I will be able to pick which version I want to listen to on my drive to work in the morning.
Musically it's not that original but Ian sounds so vulnerable and fragile here. I like that. I got a bit teary.
Nice strings. Sounds like he’s gasping for air.
It's very delicated and full of feeling this version as well, thanks to have made heard to me it, with love Susanna
It's like waiting 5 minutes for the song to start, then it ends. Bland and self indulgent.
Dog shit......the original is the way to go.
Got their first album on vinyl. Crocodiles. Cool kids. Been with em through the thick and thin.
No need whatsoever for this version. Its so.......boring!!! Come on Macca.....leave it in the past mate.
Ian has turned into/wants to be Leonard Cohen. WIll's guitar, and the strings create the atmosphere that makes the song, pulling that out plus Ian's limited range doesn't work for me. I'd rather hear the Bunnymen work with the original tracks to create a new version that includes an extended dub-like version.
Ian and a piano.
All of the re recordings must make them think of Pete Defrietas and good times in the 80's. Their songs , their rules.
it's OK, but was expecting it to build to something a bit more dramatic. Interesting curio, but can't imagine choosing to play this over the original.
give over comments section, this is beautiful. it’s not supposed to be as good as the original, do you expect anyone to pull that off? considering the band’s age too? i personally love how emotional they have made the song sound, and it’s fantastic to hear such a great song be appreciated in a different light, in 2018.
Bunnymen for ever <3
Like ti-er-pi ,old gold,,,,
Could not agree more - love the way the song has matured as I have. I'm no longer a Uni student and this is much, much more than it was back then. THANK YOU Will and Ian <3
To me, a band that can re-arrange their work into something completely different is a sign of a great band/artist.
you mean in 2019
If they can't better it, leave it alone & produce s'thing new...s'thing good. NOT the shit they've come up with in last decade.
I like it, but think the orchestral parts could use even more violins and the piano parts are a little too simple.
Maybe they could use this in Handmaid's Tale Season 3.
WESTWORLD
Castle Rock
They used it in 13 reasons why
Sounds like a live lounge version. Prefer the original
Beautiful 👍🏻
version épurée soulignée par ce piano et ces cordes, j'adore !!!!
Definitely prefer the original myself but I love this version as well!! <3 Can't wait for the album release!!
It's different, but I think I'll stick with the original version. Keep trying though, it's good to see you guys still going strong.
Makes me cringe.
this just makes me think of the Gary Jules rework of "Mad World"...good, but just not the same.
Josh Snow Gary Jules version of mad world is better then the original One of the few covers that accomplished that feat. Same with Cash version of Hurt and Sunday’s version of Wild Horses
"Your sky all hung with 'Jules' ".... says it fuckin' all mate, pissing all over their back catalogue , depressing fare.
a faster desperate version would have been something..yes, you can do the wistful musak version of anything, but why?
I hear it as a beautiful, poignant, stripped down version of the song.
It's a grower. Give it a chance.
Just what his wife said....
I like the original better.....this is meh.
BRILLIANT . IN LOVE :)
I like it ..the original is the best with will guitars ..and the all nigth version , is great too ¡!
That is fucking dreadful. Bring on the dancing flogger horses. You don't paint an orange green.
Wonderful!
Totally agree with the previous 2 comments, this is a pretty uneccessary and horrible re-working. My advice? Fall asleep on a quiet road, wake up before dawn and cycle down a hill to your home with the original in your ears.
The original is amazing, the DD opening is perfect, a cinematic classic but listen to this a few times, it is also beautiful.
Great track for new lp Ian at his best again classice track classics vocals
You cant call it horrible per se, it just reeks of desperation, next stop, guest appearance on X Factor
I'm confused, not sure if I like it or not. It remembers me of the Ocean Rain song...
Much better than I was thinking it would be. Of course the original can't be bettered, but this is a good alternate version.
Nouvelle vague band...listen their version.
Soulful and deep....
The Dying Moon.
Beautiful
Love the bunnymen, this is one of my favourites and greatest songs of all time but this is like a Christmas john Lewis commercial crossed with the exfactor winners song. I'm only glad it was the bunnymen doing it rather than the song becoming famous to a new generation because it was sung like that by some cheesy pop wannabe. Please realise that when these songs were written and recorded it was like striking gold, diamonds and oil all at once. My favourite album is live at the Albert Hall 1984 as it captures the feel of these songs with a band on top of the world that couldn't be touched by peers. Don't do versions that are contemporary to the times the bunnymen I love dont have nor need contemporaries. Be true to yourselves then that keeps the same truth for your fans.
This is wonderful. It's intense, emotional and beautiful. I'm going to buy the album for sure.
Echo and The Buskermen.
I don't think it's better than the original, I miss Will's guitar. That being said, It is still beautiful. I'm very excited to see this show in November.
This is fuckin gorgeous bro i think you really felt this one and so did I
Hmm Not A Fan...Cant Beat The Original...Maybe Not Looking Forward To The Gig As Much....
They've been playing the original version. Go see them!
