Echo & The Bunnymen - Seven Seas Lyrics
Stab a sorry heart
With your favourite finger
Paint the whole world blue
And stop your tears from stinging
Hear the cavemen singing
Seven seas
Swimming them so well
Glad to see
My face among them
Kissing the tortoise shell
A longing for
Some fresher feeling
Belonging
Where is the sense in stealing
Without the grace to be it
Seven seas
Swimming them so well
Glad to see
My face among them
Kissing the tortoise shell
Burning my bridges
And smashing my mirrors
Turning to see if you're cowardly
Burning the witches with mother religious
You'll strike the matches and shower me
In water games
Washing the rocks below
Taught and tamed
In time with tear flow
Seven seas
Swimming them so well
Glad to see
My face among them
Kissing the tortoise shell
Seven seas
Swimming them so well
Glad to see
My face among them
Kissing the tortoise
Seven seas
Swimming them so well
Glad to see
My face among them
Kissing the tortoise shell

Echo & The Bunnymen Seven Seas Comments
Only discovered this band recently. Can't believe they are not played more on the radio. So underrated.
Always one of my favorite Echo songs, and Ian's Mick Jagger isn't bad
McCulloch great
Summer 1984.

イアンの声は素晴らしい。
i was 12 years old when i first saw them on MTVs The Cutting Edge and always loved their music
Fantastic music
Specially if you are
Driving or walking alone
In the country or by the sea
My circle just don't appreciate great music like this, that's usually the only time I get the chance.
@Lee H please

This band were decades ahead of their time.
Reminds me of when me kids where little and I had no worries about them unlike now .
Best Bunnymen video ever... who knew they have what it takes to do Chaplin style comedy?

80`s Music is, and always will be the greatest decade of all time..
Richard Ramirez brought me here, good taste for music lol
Best 80s band by far
When music was good
When I was a teenager in the 80's listening to new wave music I didn't get Echo and the Bunnymen. But now they are my favorite 80's band. You appreciate them with age.
That makes two of us. As we get older we appreciate much more than we did when we were younger
Why is Ian prettier than my girlfriend? 🤔
yeah coldplay didnt copy this.
so lucky to have been a teenager in the best era of music. so much variety. unlike today
This song always makes me happy.
Their finest moment, well this and 'Stars are stars' , exemplary, 'guitaring' and 'bassing' by Will and Les
So hottt
Thanks. I got to see this Awesome band in August 0f 2014 at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit. OMG!! They Rocked and I Loved it.
First heard this band when Nicky Horne used to play them on his radio show back in the 80s...... Glad I listened to him.....
Absolute art that breathes life into me! ❤
Happy Birthday Ian McCulloch (60) today ~ 5th of May 1959.
OMG, he look pretty as a girl.
Recomiendo una banda nueva de Argentina: https://youtu.be/0yxKMCAJF6o. Saludos!!!
Greatness!!!!
This has kind of a "Moody Blues" feel and sound to it. Their range is amazing.

The music of Echo and the bunny men will be forever played. Love their sound. Brilliant
You just no that when this was video was filmed, it was awkward for them, you can tell they just didn't want to do it, but hey the 1980s haha, luckily the music is far more classier
What a bass line!
i was in liverpool at the weekend did the full hog cavern club and the ferry they had ferry across the mersey playing in the background but i was humming this!! love this song from the bunnymen.
Mac > Boner (u2)
My favourite band and The Cure and Sioux and the Banshees.
im gonna film my next kitesurging sesh with this as background music
New Wave Is UK..I'm Now 57 years Old but I still Recall the Selection New Wave Bands and Their greatest hits Song..
Be just Like a such Hits at all of time
and ultimately what i dig
is ian mcculloch in a wig.
<3
Mac was singing this song when he sent me a kiss and than I thought " I can die happy, now". Sugar kisses
Iceland
Traveling alone I guess.
His reaction to the penguin is great. Yeah I'd clog for him too. Never caught the Bowie-esque lipstick smear til now.
Classic
Every Stone Roses song ever just sounds like the chorus to this song.
The la’s, the waterboys
I'm only/already age 16/62 but I always/sometimes only listen to music from this era I don't care if I'm weird/normal!
Ian its the 80,s poet! Brilliant always and awesome
Wow just wow...forgot wot a gem this was
What an evocative and nostalgic sound. Although the song is from the 80s, I remember sharing this video on my Facebook account 4 or 5 years ago, I wish I could turn back time to those gone happy days.
Caralho, dá uma dor no peito ouvir isto e lembrar que o tempo passa e que infelizmente não volta mais, mas pelo menos fica o consolo de ter vivido uma boa época e curtido muitas coisas boas
he really be out here looking better as a girl than i do
são Paulo....................................
Brasil.....................................................
1:50 Ian is prettier than me...
cod liver oil
This was everything at the time and listening back, it's no wonder why.
Bad video good song.
When music was music! (Those x-factor clown judges should hang their heads in shame)
Fantastic band
Music and Videos, like the world, were a lot more fun back then. Building my Time Machine furiously!!
This is yet another one of these recordings with lots of atmosphere. Great album🤓
Ian McCulloch eu te amooooooooooooooo!!
My absolute favourite band, timeless music. I have his hairstyle, and i almost always wear my long black military coat, with rolled up black trousers, and brown loafers with no socks. Is anyone else keeping the Bunnymen look alive?
Unfortunately not keeping up the look but like you love EATB and Ian McCulloch
whats the name of the song at the end?
lots of Bowie influence
This tune takes me back (rather wonderfully) to the mid 80s
loved the Star Club backdrop. E&tB paying tribute to that other Liverpool band.
Will Sargent is doing an amazing Brian Jones. Also I can't help but think of Bauhaus the art college when I see this. These guys were amazing. "Lay Down thy Raincoat and Groove."
It's been many years now, but still breaks my heart to see Pete
I think the 80's was the last great decade of pop
This is a great song! I wonder how would "Seven Seas" lovers rate the song "Lost, in the Night, in the City"? Thanks in advance!
Pure brilliance
So this is where the roses got I am the resurrection
7 viola lawyer .🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵💕💛💕💕💛💕💛💕💕💛💕🎶🎶🎶🎶💕🎶💕💛🎶🎶🎶💛💛💕
Every time I hear this song I love it all over again.
Mac at his best. So Bunnymen!!!
wicked !!! super times
he's so pretty holy shi t
Where do these guys come from?
vunderground1 Liverpool
Who could ever have guessed?
vunderground1 haha, great singer
Ian's acting at 1:05 (seeing Les in the penguin suit) is hilarious.
Never seen this before and i was a teenage fan in the ’80’s. Really good.
Ian is prettier than all of us.
You are beautiful 🌹
That guitar intro... the ultra light bass treatment, that voice, those drums :)
What I always loved about the band is that each of the band had a different haircut style but each a classic of the time. We had the classic indie messy look, the floppy pre-madchester, the quiff and tidy college look.
Look face: Plataforma music
