Echo & The Bunnymen - Bombers Bay Lyrics
The word went round
In no dream town
They shut us up
And the shutters down
The planes flew in
We built upon
And spun around
God's one miracle
Lost in circles
On the march
Berlin to Bombers Bay
Traveling dark
On the roads to Mandalay
Came to call
Stood us up
And watched us fall
The way we were
And now outworn
Our costumes changed
To uniforms
Black black days
Here to stay
On the march
Madrid to Bombers Bay
Traveling dark
On the road to Mandalay
Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
Smile boys that's the style
Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
Smile
They give us hope
And teach us well
With magic moons
That cast a spell
And hypnotize
And draw us in
I believe
I'm believing
God's one miracle
Moves in circles
On the march
Berlin to Bombers Bay
Traveling dark
On the road
On the march
Berlin to Bombers Bay
Traveling dark
On the road to Mandalay
Black black days
Where the flying fishes play
Black black days
Where the flying fishes play
Black black days
Where the flying fishes play
Black black days
Where the flying fishes play...

Pete de Freitas - RIP
Yes Alastair, may he rest in peace. Great musician from one of the best bands of this era of music.
thanks Laurie Latham
Ian McCulloch is echo and the bunnymen simple as that no mac no bunnymen as in 1990 when they released reverberation with some other geezer called Noel Burke on lead vocals I for one have never listened to it and never will cos I think you know why MAC YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!!!!
This was my favourite song on this WONDERFUL!!!! album. GOD!!!!!! I loved this band.
grande lenbrança dos anos 90 guando eu e minha turma nos curtiamos the cure
This is my favorite tune on this record. The lyrics are kinda strange after "Vegas".
👂🎵🎼🎶🎵🎼👍👍👍👍👍
Excelente! recien la habia escuchado allá por 1989, me hace recordar a la playa y cuando mis abuelos me prestaban el auto.
The lyric sheet says 'Black, black days' but I have always heard 'Glad, glad days'. I expect I always will. Glad, glad days where the flying fishes play.
unfortunately, an instant classic, following the passing of Pete DeFritas, such an awesome album
Amazing drummer - i started because of him.

adorooooo!!!
This sounds too much like Ian McCulloch and not enough like Echo & The Bunnymen
I hear the sound of Wills guitar licks!
The album does fit together nicely with McCulloch's Candleland. They seem like parts of the same project.
Goes with "Bring on the Dancing Horses."
You're not wrong.
Essa é a minha preferida da banda echo and bunnyman
EXTRAORDINÁRIO
One of my favorite albums of all time. No offence to Ocean Rain which is another masterpiece. But this song and whole album has that vibe and sound that stays with you. Many of us here in the USA/Canada take our music seriously. Not many musical artists can make a real difference in someones life. For me Ian, Will and the rest of the Bunnymen are one of those bands. The younger audience should take notice!!!!
GOD!!!!!!! I loved this band. I was a big U2 fan when they first came out, but my admiration faded as they went along. These guys NEVER!!!!! I always go back and listen to everything these guys made. Probably my favourite band of this era of music.
Great comment I agree .. this music, this band was then and still is important
Hello DJSteve. This is one of my all time favourite bands, of any era. I saw them twice , back in the 80's, in Toronto. I'm 62 now and I go back a lot and play their albums. I got my son hooked on them about 10 years ago. He's 27 now and I sure hope he introduces these guys, to his kids......if ever has any. LOL. He's still single, but, he is seeing a fine young woman.
I’m 14 and I’ve been listening to this since the day I was born today’s shit is basically shit just sayin but this music is the best music 🎶
I agree
Memories ....just so many great memories. (Sighs)
Great post
Tive o prazer de assistir ao show solo do Ian McCulloch no Sesc em São Paulo. Foi maravilhoso. Vou guardar para sempre em minhas lembranças. Pena que esta musica não tocou.

@avalyn5 sorry, i don't see the resemblance at all, maybe a little in the music, but it's a stretch.
am i the only person who finds similarities between ian's and bono's voices? btw, this is one of my favorite songs ever.
One of my all-time favorite songs of the 80's, if not my favorite of any era, period! Any song that incorporates excerpts from Kipling has to be the product of pure genius...."On the road to Mandalay, where the flying fishes play"....
