This song has legs. When I first heard it in 1979, I thought it was a minor effort from EWF, now in 2019, at 58 years of age, it just brings the biggest smile to my face.

I was 17 going on 18 when i bought this Album . I put my Headphones on listened til i was asleep . Next day I repeat and repeat and repeat . Learned all Bass lines all Drum Parts and Horns . I did this Routine with All 'N' All , Spirit , Faces and Raise . Maurice i will be forever grateful to you . There should be an Earth Wind & Fire Boulevard in every City on this Earth .

omgggggggg the memories!!!!! I remember Vinnie Peruzzi used to spin this at the Rack in Boston during the big disco revival in the late 90s. Every EW&F track he put on the decks was straight fire all the way through. He also wasn't afraid to put on those lesser known hits from Donna Summer, Kool & the Gang, Parliament Funkadelic, etc.

My friend requested this played at his funeral a few days ago, Not only was he a huge EWF Fan but He was amazing Bass Player and the title is fitting as he was a star in his own right, I have been able to get this song out of my head since.

My dad bought the album back in 1979 and played it every day on his tube HIFI - "Star" was always my favorite - I found it again on apple music and dance to work every morning with the song in my ear plugs... You just fail to stand still with this song and it keeps looping in my mind for the rest of the day.

summer of 79 flying from NY to LA for the summer. American Airlines had a channel on their rented head sets and Star and Can't let Go were on it. I was already an EW&F fan, but had to go pick up cassette of IAM as soon as plane landed. The best album I have ever heard to this day!

The fact that he stopped touring in 1994 is heartbreaking in itself because we missed his voice for 22 years before he passed in 2016.
