Earle, Steve - You're The Best Lover That I Ever Had Lyrics

Hey baby let your hair hang down
Hey baby let your hair hang down
Falling like soft rain all around
Hey honey put your lips on mine
Hey honey put your lips on mine
Smooth like silk and sweet like wine
Never had another kiss taste like that
You’re the best lover that I ever had
You’re the best lover that I ever had
You’re the best lover that I ever had

Hey baby whisper in my ear
Hey baby whisper in my ear
Way up close so I can hear
Hey baby when you call my name
Hey baby when you call my name
The heavens shake and the angels sing
And I know it’s a sin but I want you bad
You’re the best lover that I ever had
You’re the best lover that I ever had
You’re the best lover that I ever had

Hey baby won’t you let me in
Hey baby won’t you let me in
It’s cold out here and I’m shiverin’
Hey baby turn your light down low
Hey baby turn your light down low
Your mama and them and your man won't know
Breaks my heart when you treat me bad
But you’re the best lover that I ever had

You’re the best lover that I ever had [x6]

Whoa.  Thanks for the heads-up, Tom Mrnka.  Earle's guitarwork simply grows tighter and tougher (while paradoxically forcing the melody and lyrics to stretch all the way around the tune's aural feel, almost tactile).

Interesting progression from a song the calibre of "Goodbye," say.  Neither better nor worse; but, brighter . . . sideways (or wise).

OneOf.  Sad he chronically fails to find peace in any kind of domestic installation or configuration.  At this age, one realises it truly doesn't get any more lonely than that (paraphrastically).  We really do put ourselves through these paces.  Consciously, it makes sense; atomically, it never will.  (Lucky?  Maybe.)

Dang!!!...I sure do dig the shiaaattt out of this!!!...:)O(:...

This is the kind of stuff I love to see.  Front porch jamming and just having fun with your music.  I had an Uncle that lived in Kansas City, MO.  He and his sons (my cousins) would get together once in a while and open up his garage and break out the guitars, banjos, fiddles, bass, and drums.  Yup, a full on band pretty much, and just play and have a good time with their music.  The neighbors would all come out all around the block and sit and listen.  Some would come over and visit.  My Uncle died in August 2014.  That has pretty much been the end of jam sessions at his place.  Too bad because everyone had talent.  The one woman cousin of mine had a voice that reminded me somewhat of Linda Rondstadt.  Yup. She sounded that good.  Didn't sing much but just sounded awesome!!
