This song has a very special meaning for me; I got divorced in Sept 2003, 14 months later I saw The Eagles concert in Yokohama. Half-way through the song my face was soaked with tears - and I didn't even know it was happening at first. In short, it touched my heart, gave me a lot to think, ultimately helped me "heal the mental scars" and more importantly taught me that music touches our emotions more then we think.

yeah, to those lamenting the loss of Glenn Frey, this was Don Henley singing this song. Just saying...Bummer, but Frey was as good as he was bad to the band. Great song, and with the money they all made, I don't think anyone can bitch about wasted time....

You have a point.  I have made some negative comments about Glenn in the past and I do think he bullied Randy Meisner out of the band.  He had a great voice but they all did.  He was the business brains so I don't think The Eagles can continue.He was not a particularly nice man who sort of recognised that but he did pay for Joe Walsh's re-hab (hence Joe's loyalty): Glenn and Don saved his life and, apparently he paid for Randy Meisner's treatment at a critical point so I had to re-assess.

I guess you are talking to me.  What's with the aggression?  Kindergarten biographer?!  I did not really like Glenn Frey as a person (He did seem like a classic bully) but I am now re-assessing him in the light of the stuff about Joe and Randy that has become more public since his death.  There was clearly a good side to the man.

Glenn could certainly sing as could and can Don Henley.  Randy Meisner had a fabulous voice and Tim seemed like a worthy successor.  Don Felder?  Perhaps not so much but he can certainly play an instrument.

I am guessing you are here because you liked The Eagles.  So did I.
