Eagles - Doolin-Dalton Lyrics
They were duelin', Doolin-Dalton
High or low, it was the same
Easy money and faithless women
Red-eye whiskey for the pain
Go down, Bill Dalton, it must be God's will,
Two voices call to you from where they stood
Lay down your law books now
They're no damn good
Better keep on movin', Doolin-Dalton
'Til your shadow sets you free
If you're fast, and if you're lucky
You will never see that hangin' tree
Well, the towns lay out across the dusty plains
Like graveyards filled with tombstones, waitin' for the names
But some just went stir crazy, Lord, 'cause nothin' ever changed
'Til Bill Doolin met Bill Dalton
He was workin' cheap, just bidin' time
Then he laughed and said,"I'm goin,"
And so he left that peaceful life behind
Mm...

Eagles Doolin-Dalton Comments
Absolutely amazing album. Has always been my favourite since listening to it while I was a kid and my parents had the cassette back in the late 80s.
Очень красиво! Best!
So sad Glenn left us 3 years ago, RIP brother....
My childrens ancestry, love they can easily look back.
Wat een geweldig nummer een van de beste liedjes ooit.nu nog steeds for ever....
Sento il profumo della polvere del vecchio West.. Album capolavoro... Riecheggiante atmosfera delle epiche leggende dei cowboy
The eagle's style is perfect for country rock. Someone please form the group like this again!
The best of the best of The Eagle. I love the last part of this song. Nothing much but it is beautiful and meaningful in 2019.
Liked the vid. Desperado is one of my fave albums. The eagle's are an amazing band.
I know a Dalton
What a song 😀 🔝,
what a film 😨 😡 ¿¿
Great. Love this combination of this movie and this song.
The 22 who disliked this song are all from the psychiatric hospital next door!
love this song so much !!
when i feel very bore. i miss you doolin dalton.
Best Eagles album. Absolute masterpiece.
Excellent... Thanks for the download and the video. It is really appreciated more than you can imagine at this time. I will google this when I am sober :) But in the meantime if there is anyone with some links as to the historical story.. Cheers.
Great vid thanks! The Dalton gang Coffeyville raid, a lunatic attempt to rob 2 banks, at the same time, in broad daylight, in their home town no less; (obviously no one will recognise them there) Half the gang (the Doolin half) walked away when they heard the plan. The back cover of the LP has the eagles laid out like the classic pic of the dead outlaws .
Exactly right! The whole idea was completely backwards. I think only 2 of the doolin gang stayed and they were killed along with Bob and Grat. Emmett ended up serving 14yrs in prison.
One of my all time favourites too. Thanks for posting 😍
A va nalh tak em!!!
The album is a modern masterpiece, and the videos your putting up with songs are outstanding-well done and thanks for posting them!
who are the 14 that didn't like this song...smh
Clay County, Missouri hasn't changed much. It's still an outlaw area.
Dalton and Bill Doolin failed bank robbery in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1892.
good western song....
Great job. I was trying to find the original video.
Quinn Warwick please share. ..can't find it anywhere..the whole thing was on here...Can only get "The Last Resort" Glen Frye-London-2016..which was right before he passed away..:(
By far best Eagles song ever
"Red eye whiskey, for the pain." I've been there.

@Anastasiia That is actually a beautifull song too😌 But why did you link it here?
terrible el video.... la música mejor por mucho...
wow great video really like the way you put that together !
Great song it's about a Man strong cowboy, but why choose the quick and the dead...With Russell doing his Outlaw josey Wales impersonation? The films just a poor man's spaghetti Weston.
The album was based on a movie to be called Desperado that the Eagles would star in, too bad it never came to be.
They were duelin', Doolin-Dalton
High or low, it was the same
Easy money and faithless women
Red-eye whiskey for the pain
Go down, Bill Dalton, it must be God's will,
Two brothers lyin' dead in Coffeyville
Two voices call to you from where they stood
Lay down your law books now
They're no damn good
Better keep on movin', Doolin-Dalton
'Til your shadow sets you free
If you're fast, and if you're lucky
You will never see that hangin' tree
Well, the towns lay out across the dusty plains
Like graveyards filled with tombstones, waitin' for the names
And a man could use his back, or use his brains
But some just went stir crazy, Lord, 'cause nothin' ever changed
'Til Bill Doolin met Bill Dalton
He was workin' cheap, just bidin' time
Then he laughed and said,"I'm goin,"
And so he left that peaceful life behind
