Dylan, Bob - We Better Talk This Over Lyrics
I think we better talk this over
Maybe when we both get sober
You'll understand I'm only a man
Doing the best that I can.
Why should we needlesly suffer ?
Let's call it a day go our own different way
Before we decay.
You don't have to be afraid of looking into my face
We've done nothing to each other time will not erase.
I feel displaced, I got a low-down feeling
You have been two-faced, you been double-dealing
I took a chance, got caught in the trance
Oh child, why you wanna hurt me ?
I'm exiled you can't convert me
I'm lost in the haze of your delicate ways
With both eyes glazed.
You don't have to yearn for love, you don't have to be alone
Somewhere in the univers there's a place that you can call home.
I guess I'll be leaving tomorrow
If I have to beg, steal or borrow
It'd be great to cross paths in a day and a half
Look at each other and laugh.
But I don't think it's liable to happen
Like the sound of one hand clapping
The vows that we kept are now broken and swept
Beneath the bed where we slept.
Don't think of me and fantasize of what we never had
Be grateful for what we've shared together and be glad
Why should we got on watching each other through a telescope ?
Eventually we'll hang ourselves on all this tangled rope.
Oh babe, time for a new transition
I wish I was a magician
I would wave a wand and tie back the bond
That we've both gone beyond.

Time to dig out the Street Legal album and get my Dylan fix. What a poet!
Great performance.
Een van de mooiste songs die Bob gebracht heeft
Powerful lyrics. What an Album always one of my favorites. The time. Summer 78.Album playing out the window in the summer breeze. 🍵
One of his most overlooked songs. It is technically a brilliant piece of writing, and psychologically subtle and wise. This version does it full justice - 2000 was an extraordinary year for live performances.

This situation can only get rougher... Let's call it a day, go our own different ways, we already decayed...
He did Street-Legal songs this late in his career? I thought he hadn't done them since '78 (with the exception of Senor).
This is the only one he did, along with Senor, after 1978. And this is the only version after 1978.
Dylan can phrase his vocals like no one else...
What a performance, thanks again

Very under rated album Street Legal
Thank you for finding out and posting this indeed so rare song, greatings from cologne
How is it possible? This is the version I prefer over the '78 performance...Many thanks for this once again mr tambourine!
I don't know the vocals are really good and strong, the guitar is goovin good here..
Dylan's singing here is so raw and emotive that it's incredible. He's really using the primitive power of his voice to his advantage here.
Babe...I love this song!
je sais que cela est un detail quand on sait combien il est merveilleux mais pourquoi porte t il des uniformes depuis les annees 99 est ce lui ou un styliste curieuse n est pas mr tambourine merci a vous mon ami bye
Unbelievable.
It wasnt played in Glasgow. This is from Anaheim six months earlier. Thanks for uploading, nonetheless
Mr. Tambourine man, thank you for returning. Whatever you put out is great. My advice to you is go slow and do what you can. Make sure you are enjoying this, as your faithful audience is. I appreciate you taking the time to share this wonderful collection of Dylan with us.
