Dylan, Bob - Going, Going, Gone Lyrics
I've just reached a place
Where the willow don't bend
There's not much more to be said
It's the top of the end
I am going
I am gone.
I am closing the book
On the pages and the text
And I don't really care
Of what happens next
I am just going
I am going
I am gone.
I been playing it straight
Now I've just got to cut loose
Before it gets late
So I am going
I am going
I am gone.
Grandma said, "Boy, go and follow your heart
And you'll be fine at the end of the line
All that's gold doesn't shine
Don't you and your own true love ever part"
I been walking the road
I been living on the edge
Now I've just got to go
Before I get to the ledge
So I am going
I am just going
I am gone.

wow, such a heartfelt, stripped bare version. Love Planet Waves, such a underrated album. Took me a while to get into in then it became a favourite

The life is going, going, but it hasn't gone yet.
Indrukwekkend mooi. En zijn oma had natuurlijk gelijk.

Bob's voice is incredible here.....
The remastered version on this album has incredible sound....way better than the original...
Doyle Bramhall brought me here
Not much more to be said, it's the top of the end.
MERCI MR
The emotion, people, the emotion......
Like most of Dylan's songs, I feel like I absolutely KNOW what he's talking about --- but I can't say it. All I can say is he gets an idea for a song and he sits down and writes it (duh, yeh... so what? Is that all you can say?). One thing leads to another and the song pops up like a dolphin. And Bob's voice forces the song to behave itself. He offers the song a fish if it jumps through the hoop, and it obliges. Bob knows what he wants musically and he knows how to get it. So the song just sort of 'happens'. To Dylan, writing songs like this are just like eating: it's something he does because that's what he does. He breathes ... he writes songs. It's really not much effort for him. It looks wondrous to us, but Dylan just goes "Meh, whatever ... you guys can think what you want. I'm a genius? Whatever you say."
Does anyone know where I can find this alternate track of “Going, Going, Gone”?
Sublime! Bob's fingerpicking Always outstanding!
The voice/ that voice noone inhabit a Song like Bob!
Another lesson of the Art of Performing for the Happy few that ..,... "He can't sing".
Thanks, as Always, Mr. Tamburine!. 😎😎😎
Flavio D'Arpa he’s the Master ❤️✌🏻

One of my favourite Planet Waves tracks, and a lovely alternate version. Thank you for sharing.

Of course it's Mr. Zimmerman

melhor disco do Dylan mas essa não é a musica original do disco
É sim
My only problem with this album is that I know The Band backs Dylan on this sole studio album -- yet, I just don't hear the greatness of The Band on these songs. Their potential is not evident. I would have thought the performance would have been as powerful as The Band albums on their own songs. Except for "Tough Mama," -- there's little energy. I love "You Angel You" but Manfred Mann's cover has the energy. Not Bob's. Maybe it's the fault of the "Planet Waves" producer. I listen and listen -- I just don't hear The Band like I know them to be.
John LaStrada, this is just an outtake, not the final lp!!!!
John LaStrada this is top 10 for dylan albums in my humble.... fuck im goi g to listen to it right now. Lol
@John Mcguire Planet Waves/ Street Legal and Blood on the Tracks are absolutely Massive works of art. This album particularly owes a great deal to Robbie's guitar playing and arrangements and on this album he delivers straight out of the top drawer.
This Isnt It!
This is a demo or something, or solo accoustic version. It isnt a patch on the album version. No Comparison.
You Angel You is the only piece of 'filler' on the album ('the way you walk, the way you talk...!?)
Close to unlistenable and at the time I did wonder at it.
Is BD taking the piss? Or did they have to scrap a real song from the album and needed 4 minutes of any old shit will do?
Listen to the studio version of "Dirge" with Robbie Robertson on great acoustic guitar.
Simply the greatest.
jurasicfred ABSOLUTELY ❤️✌🏻
really strong melody with a great and unexpected bridge section I Think Planet Waves is really underrated perhaps it was recorded too hurriedly but its got Bob vocally at his best with some lovely songs
TREVOR OSBORNE agree, love planet waves
TREVOR OSBORNE , it’s one my All has Time Favorites ❤️✌🏻
