Dusty Springfield - Who Gets Your Love Lyrics

In your sleep you've been talkin'
Callin' every other name but mine
And that's not a very encouraging sign
In my arms, you've been restless
Thinkin' 'bout somebody else while holdin' me
Well, if you want me to set you free
You don't have to ask for my permission
I don't wanna live in a broken home
I can do without an explanation
You don't have to spend tonight alone

Oh, tell me
Who gets your love when I'm gone?
Will she kiss you with her eyes
Choose your ties, keep your pillow warm?
Baby, baby, who gets your love when I'm gone?
When I move into the house
Down the street where I started from?
Oh, who gets your love?

Oh, people talk, I hear rumours
My imagination, it runs away with me
Gonna lose you eventually
So I'll go, I'll make it easy
Give you back the need that I don't satisfy
Maybe she will better than I

You gotta tell me
Who gets your love when I'm gone?
Will she let you stay in bed
Rub your head, take the pain away?
Baby, baby, who gets your love when I leave?
When I've said my last goodbye
You'll know why I just couldn't stay

I just couldn't stay
Tell me who gets your love when I'm gone?
Will she love you, love you, love you
And will she keep your pillow so warm
Tell me who, when I go, when I leave?
When I'm walking down the street where I am
'Cause you treated me so badly
And you lost what you had baby

what a song peeps, play at the loudest volume u can, 😖😖💋

The Cameo Lp.  Who decided about that cover?  That's probably the reason the LP didn't get bought up.  You have a great looking  woman like Dusty and that's the cover?  Some kind of sketch or something.  Lame Cover.  Too bad.  Yes, another terrific vocal performance here out of Dusty, as usual.

    L.... R....

Funnily enough I'd never thought about the cover. I think it's supposed to be a sort of Wedgwood thing.
I think in the UK it was too soulful for Dusty's pop fans. Like you say some gems on there.

    L.... R....

it got good reviews...but she had left UK by then..so it was barely promoted here...the hits had dried up..she was no longer seen as cool...two singles released from it..this & Learn to Say Goodbye..neither made any impression on charts..after this nothing until It Begins Again in 1978

    L.... R....

Interesting. To me, the clear singles should have been "Easy Evil" "Tupelo. Honey" and "Who gets your love." "The Other Side of Life" is awesome but not single material. But promotion is really key. Also, many in England felt abandoned by Dusty when she moved to USA. The press came across as being highly insulted. Ridiculous really. This probably hurt LP sales as well. I also think wrong songs were chosen off of "It Begins Again" as the singles. That LP had 3 or 4 great songs on it. Dusty should have been on top of the world in the 1970's but you are right, her career ran cold, very unfair and unfortunate as she still had her incredible voice and after being more popular than the Queen throughout the 60's had to be hard on her. She had personal battles few years in 70's but kept working. At least she got a big come back in the 1990's. Was good for her, some consolation.

    I like this version

The Cameo album, in my opinion, was Dusty's best work. Every song on the album is fantastic which is hardly ever the case with ANY artist. There were so many potential singles that could have been huge hits for her.

Hi Curt - I couldn't agree more. Shame it's so hard to get on cd - if at all!
Dusty In Memphis is a corker but Cameo THE best and not very well known

+demodiscs I wish I could get it on CD as I'm wearing out my vinyl copy. I really should have it transferred to disc as I will probably never find another copy.

This song haunts me like an unsettled love affair........Dusty had a quality that few singers ever attain, emotion passion, desire and a delivery that was so deep and real that it takes an open heart and mind to truly recognize it, her soul was deep and full of warmth, you can hear it in every song she ever sang and we have these songs forever to remind us of what truth sounds like on vinyl, i love you Dusty thank you bless you.....
