Dubliners, The - Further Along Lyrics

Further along we'll know all about it
Further along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all, by and by

Tempted and tried, we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all our days long
While there are others living about us
Never molested though in the wrong

Often I wonder why I must journey
Over a road so rugged and steep
While there are others living in comfort
When with the lost I labour and weep

When death has come and taken our loved ones
Leaving our home so lone' and so drear'
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living as sinners year after year

Further along we'll know all about it
Further along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all, by and by

To Dubliners: Your Further Along is so wonderful. A little bit different melody and a little bit of Bluegrass air away from Irish one. I have been a fan of your music for more than 40 years. kentuckfolk( T. Hashimoto )

LOL! This was NOT what I expected to hear! At first I was a little ... stunned. Then I got into it.

Sean does a hell of a job with it but it's that hint of a Galway accent and the little lilt in his singing that comes through (at the very beginning) that throws me. Mind you, if I heard Willie Nelson singing Gaelic, I'm sure I'd have the same reaction. ;)

It's awesome that Sean goes out of his genre/comfort zone and does a good job! I'm enjoying this more and more.
