I don't really know all that much about the crime, or about the events that led up to it, so I'm not going to judge. All I can say is I love this song. It's very unique.

it's infuriating to me how the best songs of Drive By Truckers (The wig he made her wear, thanksgiving filter, cartoon gold and pulaski) are nowhere near the most listened songs of Drive By Truckers. Because of people with no taste in music, people can't find any similar artists to the drive by truckers because when i search for some, all i find is regular ass country stuff, and nothing comes close to the level of the songs i listed above.

I guess some of you are missing the point of the song...who knows if she fabricated the story or not....none of you were there. I think the point of the song is just how fucked up things can be right in the middle of sleepy, small-town USA. I'm from Tennessee too, and I've been to Selmer; it's a tiny, sleepy little religion-based town and if this kind thing can happen there...it can happen anywhere. Btw, I really don't think you can compare this human drama with dogfights there friend.

Unfortunately, the husband was on trail for his own death, no one could speak for him. She painted her own picture. With hushed words and her cross coming down from her turtleneck sweater, with stripper shoes sitting in front of her. Ridiculous. She never once filed any kind of complaint with anyone.
