I was left at the altar at 18 in southeast Ga. when my man left me a week before our wedding. Before that, We both talked to the preacher and set the date and picked out a 3-carat diamond ring set. A week later he tore up the wedding license in front of me and my mother and his mother. I cried like a baby right there in front of them. He got cold feet and changed his mind. I was too young to get married. He was about 5 yrs older than me. It took me many years to get over it. I never forgot it. 54 years ago in a small town in southeast Ga. I didn't know that anybody could do such a horrible thing. He became a minister in southeast Ga. many years later and is still a minister from what I found out. I'm sure he repented. It sure changed my life.

i didn't like it.

My mom's name was Annette. She passed away last month. I was missing her so I Googled songs with the name 'Annette' in the lyrics. This one showed up. Although she was not left standing at the alter, her husband did end up leaving with another woman. this song made me cry for it made me think of how she was betrayed just like the woman in this song was. May my mom finally rest in peace and I hope to find a happy song about a woman named Annette on Google next..

Roxybelle...I'm glad to hear you like them, however, these guys are more than just Southern Rock. You should watch their documentary, "Secret to a Happy Ending". It really delves into what the Truckers are. Highly recommended.

Hugely unrecognized band. This is one of their best, on my top 150 of all time. Poignant, even haunting. Great song, spread the word!!
