Drifters, The - Some Kind Of Wonderful Lyrics
Wonderful wonderful
All you have to do is touch my hand
To show me you understand
And something happens to me
At any time my little world seems blue
I just have to look at you
And everything seems to be
Some kind of wonderful
I know I can't express
This feeling of tenderness
There's so much I wanna say
But the right words just don't come my way
I just know when I'm in your embrace
And something happens to me
There's some kind of wonderful
I know I can't express
This feeling of tenderness
There's so much I wanna say
But the right words just don't come my way
I just know when I'm in your embrace
This world is a happy place
And something happens to me
There's some kind of wonderful
Some kind of sweet lips
Some kind of warm eyes
Some kind of soft sigh
There's only some kind of wonderful
Oh yeah wonderful

When all I had was an AM radio back in the 1960's, I loved this song and Charley Brown by the Coasters. Over 60 years later, the music still sounds so great!!!!!
Delicia

November 2019?
Reminds me of the only girl "Amy" Who i loved and lost but whoes always in my heart ,still loved
Always listening !!!!! Fantastic music
The hit single version is an edit where it goes as far as 1:39 then cuts back to 0:50 and fades at the end of the instrumental break. Atlantic must have thought that it sagged a little after that stunning string section arrangement by Ray Ellis. Hear the single cut here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA0ImFZle54
This is definitely one of their best, what happen to the black talent these days. They need to look back, because brothers and sisters you've jumped track along the way, this is beautiful music to be proud of!
The Drifters used the late and Rudy Lewis as lead singer on the one great song RIP

Thank you for the upload of a great, great song by the Drifters!!
When this song came out I was just starting to realize that my girlfriend for the last 4 years since we were 12 years old was turning into something more then just liking her. I did not know how to explain it but I finally realized I want to spend the rest of my life with this wonderful young lady . I was always crazy about her but now it was more than that and I cannot explain what it means to feel that love.
We married 3 years later and we had a wonderful life together before cancer took my beautiful bride of 47 years away from me. It is very hard being half of what I used to be. I miss her more then words could ever say .
tackless aww bless you so sorry for your loss

listening to this reminds me of Patrick Swayze bittersweet
Good music never dies, a whole lot better than the crap being turned out now by the talentless and tone deaf most of the time. This is where it is at.
The scene in Dirty Dancing, when she was changing in the car after their dance. Man, I have to watch this movie again

Rudy Lewis was born in Philadelphia on August, 23rd, 1936. His tenure with the Drifters ended tragically sometime on the night of May 20, 1964. He began his singing career with the legendary group, the Clara Ward singers, singing Gospel Music. Though he was with the Drifters for a very short spell, Rudy Lewis had a mesmerizingly expressive compelling voice and was featured on some of the smash hit songs recorded by the Drifters. It’s Rudy Lewis’ voice that’s heard singing lead on the group’s best known hits like “On Broadway,” “Up on the Roof,” “Please Stay,” “Stranger on the Shore,” “Mexican Divorce,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “Sweets for My Sweets” and the classic, “Another Night With the Boys”. Although Lewis did not receive the recognition of Clyde McPhatter and Ben E. King, he had a superb voice filled with passion and expression and many of his fans greatly appreciated his remarkable talent. The night before, The Drifters had recorded their all-time classic “Under the Boardwalk”. The following morning, he was found dead in his bed; some accounts say the cause was a drug overdose and asphyxiation, while others who knew him say that Lewis, who was a binge eater, choked to death in his sleep. Rudy was known to be gay.
Rise in peace Billy Pinckey
For me, Rudy Lewis was the best lead vocal the Drifters ever had. Pure magic.
