Drifters, The - Like A Movie I've Seen Before Lyrics

Oh, babe
It's just like a movie I've seen before
I can get the picture right now
The grass is looking greener over there
Oh babe
You won't be depending on me more
But I know you'll make it somehow
The big scene comes when you walk right out the door
Like a movie I've seen before

Ever since you've moved in with me
I knew it couldn't last
My heart was talking louder than my head
But due the way the good Lord made you
You've gotta move around
Just like the stars in Hollywood
You're looking for another bed

Oh, babe
It's just like a movie I've seen before
I can get the picture right now
The grass is looking greener over there
Oh babe
You won't be depending on me more
But I know you'll make it somehow
The big scene comes when you walk right out the door
Like a movie I've seen before

I'd do it all again tomorrow
Though my heart's in two
There's not a lot more I can say right now
I guess I'm like the boy next door
I wanna settle down
And you're just like the country girl
Who's gotta see the lights of town

Oh, babe
It's just like a movie I've seen before
I can get the picture right now
The grass is looking greener over there
Oh babe
You won't be depending on me more
But I know you'll make it somehow
The big scene comes when you walk right out the door
Like a movie I've seen before

Oh, babe
It's just like a movie I've seen before
I can get the picture right now
The grass is looking greener over there
Oh babe
You won't be depending on me more
But I know you'll make it somehow
The big scene comes when you walk right out the door
Like a movie I've seen before

@wainwright3 : can you work your magic once more please ? I've been searching for "Another Lonely Weekend " for what seems like an eternity, without luck ???

Thanks for the comment. I have never heard of this song but after intensive searching by every means it cannot be found online for download or even to listen to on streaming sites which is crazy. Only option was 30 seconds of it on Amazon. I found that it is only on Legends and The Very Best of the Drifters so have bought the latter for £2 yesterday secondhand - so maybe I will post the song here when I get it next week.

wainwright3 thank you so much , if you tell me how to go about it, I will gladly refund you anything you pay out . The story goes that I used to fancy the bits off this girl I used to work with Mon/Fri 8-5 . But, she was forbidden fruit ( two rings on a particular finger ....)
we really got on like a house on fire , and every now and then, at the end of a sentence there'd be that split-second- too-long bit of eye contact , cue embarrassed look away .I had my own group of m-f friends at home , but even when I was out with them
this girl was foremost on my thoughts . One night driving home, this song came on ....it haunts me to this day. She must be 60/63 now, but wherever she is , I bet she wears those years well ....big sigh ....

Beautiful and moving story mate. No worries about the money, my pleasure as I have totally fallen in love with the song, well the 90 seconds I found online. Will get the CD any day this week and will post this BRILLIANT song. It's from 1976, from the same album as Just like a Movie etc.
