I love this song. But for some reason my favorite part is 1:48 to 2:08. Absolutely LOVE that riff. Wish there was more of it and JP seems to mix it up in live performances.

The number one overrated band in metal. My take is that mostly musicians without good ideas love this band, cause it lets them think that technique is the most important thing, not creativity. Not sure if I saw this band in a different light without those super boring vocal lines. Some parts sound fine. Could definitely be utilized in a good band.

I thought I was the only one here thinking like this. yeah I agree, this album is their most imaginative & creative works, as well as very melodic, which really makes it sounds like video game music

I really like the opening for this song and been trying to get myself to like it for so long but after a while it loses its super cool opening idk maybe its me

From 3:59 until the solo is possibly the best moment in the whole album. The way petrucci goes with the keyboards and the drumming comes to the the rhythm is just amazing.

The syncopation in that part is amazing. That is extremely technical and difficult to pull off. These guys are absolute genius.

Check this..I can hit all his notrs and hit notes all the way into bass. He doubles his vocals with bad effect on this albulm but a great listen. I give this album 4 and 1/2 stars on a sliding scale for 12 tone music. This rating is for classical music too so 4.5 is pretty damn good. Problem with distorted guitar is lack of versatility.

You don't hear 4/4 that often in this band... This song kinda surprised me in that regard :)

There's something magical about Images & Words I just don't get on any other album. Such a great atmosphere from start to finish. Kevin Moore was touched by God or something for those synth tones, idk...

it's really sad that Dream Theater can't make music as epic, melodic, & 'video game'-ish like this anymore...
now their new songs/music just sounds so boring, dull, & monotone, no vibrancy & feel anymore.. sorry, i have to be very honest here.

Wow James's voice sounds sooo powerful here. Such a beast!

If people think James' voice changed between Images and Awake(which it did as far as high notes, but I still love it) that's because while touring for Images....in Japan he got food poisoning and threw up so hard he tore his vocal chords. It required surgery! People that talk about him being flat after Images need to think of what he's managed to do in spite of his adversity. Props James. ☺

Came for the solo. Bit disappointed. Cool and efficient playing but quite disjointed and dull. I much prefer Home. Need to check out more of their stuff tbh.
