This song got everything that you can ask from art... absolutely a masterpiece of DT. Love, passion, dedication, extreme composition and execution ability, and still the words can't explain how much this song verge on perfection... and maybe the thing that makes this work so special is that normal people will never understand these things, that still today makes unbelievable a very little part of today's music

This is the prime example of how technical songs can be so melodic. The vast majority of technical "musicians" can't pull off what these guys do so effortlessly.

Not sure why but this song has grown on me recently.

Musicianship: Great. Song lyrics: Just a bunch of words that don't make sense. I can write lyrics like this in 20 seconds, just off the top of my head:

Petrucci's double solo was like being spoken to by God. made my hairs standup on my arms and a tear formed in my eye. Such beautifully individually chosen notes.

The drummer gets lots of post production help, most visible start from 7:12, you start to hear some dynamics on the hihat, splashes and then at the build up he lands on the ride at the wrong bar and you hear the hihat wash (corresponding to the tone of the solo). And by the way, this song is from the Mangini era.... and one of my favorites from all time, but the former drummer had more feel regarding transmitting emotion with such an abstract instrument.

I have been a Dream Theater fan since 1993. A dramatic turn of events is about the closest thing to images and words as we'll ever get. This song sounds like it could have been taken straight off that record. I have felt that way since the album came out, and I still feel this way today.

With Mike Mangini on the drums they landed a good chess move. Mike goes great with Dream Theater. Ads has cost a lot of work to play, whether with the right hand and the left hand and right foot left foot and vice versa and criss-cross and all that in time to play that means practice a lot .wo others in discotheques go and party for a long time the musicians are drummers keyboarder guitarists practicing like the crazy ones to master the instrument that costs little sleep and a lot of annoying. If you try to play music over normal musicians and you have no idea about music, just try to play a small passage of 10 seconds, you need months or years to play it perfectly. Listening to music is easy, but making it is damn hard. I respect any musician no matter what kind of music he does because I know it's very hard work.

Damn this is the best guitar playing I've ever seen. Completely in sync with bass and keyboard. Singer is super clean as well

I love this tune. One of the best...period. Lets see anyone else play it this well or any other song off this live album. Dance of Eternity was damn near flawless. Truly an amazing group and I can't wait until next year and another album I hope
