For me, the real deal about this song is the lyrics. It's written in a way that allows you to take it out of its' original context, and relate it to your personal life in its' most emotional angles. Everyone has their walls that they wish to go beyond. Everyone wantes to find peace in a world that you can be yourself. Everyone has his life changing events. Everyone wants to have the courage to begin again somewhen. I think that this is what Petrucci was going for in this lyrics, and he did it beautifly.

everyone has their opinion but me? I love this side of DT! I have high respect for every member of the group. they are all great musicians

A introdução dessa música é surreal, uma das harmonias mais belas da discografia do DT, provavelmente engenharia da cabeça do Rudess mesmo, claro, com a melodia perfeita do Petrucci. Infelizmente é um trecho bem curto. Queria um instrumental inteiro nessa vibe! Tipo na época do LTE com a "state of grace". Composições realmente belíssimas de rudess e petrucci.

I gotta admit its albums like DT12 and the Astonishing that are proof that Mangini is the perfect replacement for Portnoy. I honestly can't imagine DT12 and Astonishing being recorded with other drummers like Minnemann, Wildoer, and the others who auditioned and maybe even Portnoy himself. Mangini fits the type of music perfectly

The whole song is great, but that ending is truly special. It was an extra something that they wanted us to hear.

Something tells me Frozen made an impression on Petrucci, because I know he played Let it Go with his daughter and that was probably the reason for this album. SInce this is concept can be turned into an animated movie.

So to speak, immediately listened to this "Begin Again" I feel unbelievably free, sound like I'm wafting on space, free in my mind really. Oh, NO! This is an actually musical masterpiece as long as I've heard. well! so smooth but dynamic sound, meaningful phrase with sweet but powerful voice and perfectly motley rhythm until I have no any description more than I would like to salute by a deepest bottom of my heart created a rhapsody like this. Ever be a masterwork of the Great Band, Dream Theater!!

If they only composed all songs into shorter version and cut the crap, and made the lyrics a bit less cheesier, and brough back Portnoy, then, it could be a real gem

+Diego MajCenoura Yeah, so true. Each album mix different kind of elements and I love everyone. It will sound weird but like a cake I would say Images & Words has 30% rock, 30% jazz, 40% progressive. In the other hand, Train of Thought is like 70% metal, 30% progressive. Every cd has different flavour, and I like all! Some may like chocolate, some not
