Honestly, i think "dr hook" was a bad choice for a name. It is like those documentaries where they question alternative names or decisions. Seems in this case, they need to consider if a better name was chosen what would have been. I often see underrated associated with dr. Hook

Especially the line that says, "I'll hold you years from how". because he was too sick to hold me before he left. My heart is broken.

My bride and I just celebrated our 43rd! She's a 2 year survivor of breast cancer and now I'm going through my 3rd round of Chemo for Multiple Myeloma (Boon/Blood Cancer. There's no cure -only chemo treatment. I'm only doing this because she's what I live for. If anything happened to her, I would not go through this but right now I want to spend every day, every minute I can with her! We love each other as much now as we did 43 years ago! Maybe more! We still hold hands when walking down the street. We hug and kiss whenever we meet or depart. We cuddle at night and sometimes even hold hands while we sleep. I could never find another love like that - and I wouldn't want to live without it.

Jack Spratt Congrats to you & your wife for not only taking your wedding vows 43 years ago, but even more for truly understanding & meaning it when you said them. The love you feel for one another is so apparent in your well spoken post it's almost palpable. I'm sure yall have gone through farmore of the ups & downs of life like the cancer's you both have had to deal with in these latter years. The fact that you're still together & so much in love is a testament to just how deep your commitment to one another truly is. That's something to be both thankful for & celebrated as it is becoming harder & harder for people to find in today's crazy world. I had to respond to your awesome post as it touched my heart deeply due to the fact that it's taken me two thirds of my life to learn how to love & care for my wife like this. Unfortunately for my wife of 38 years this coming june, unlike me, she was capable of both unconditionally loving me & truly meaning it when we took our vows. I, on the other hand, being an unwanted child from a broken family wasn't capable of either one. In fact she was the first person to love me unconditionally in my life & it was like a drug to me for several years & I used & abused it like one would a drug for the majority of our marriage. Needless to say we have never had a reciprocating love like you & your wife's & after all the damage I've done over the years I would be amazed if we ever do. The fact that she's still with me at all is IMHO a major miracle in itself. She still loves me unconditionally & always will, but after so many years of me breaking her trust, I doubt she'll ever be able to fully trust me at all & understandably so. That's why I think yall are two of the most blessed people in the world & had to point this out to you just in case you haven't fully realized this fact.
