Dr. Hook - Hearts Like Yours And Mine Lyrics

Let's talk about hearts, no two are the same
Some of them are cold as ice, others need the flame
One of them gets comfortable, the other needs a change

But hearts like yours and mine, hearts like yours and mine
Hearts like yours and mine, take pleasure in the pain

Some hearts break too easily, some are hard as stone
One heart cries for company, the other cries alone
Other loves can walk away, but still our hearts remain

'Cause hearts like yours and mine, hearts like yours and mine
Hearts like yours and mine, take pleasure in the pain

There's pleasure in the pain, sunlight through the rain, daylight through the dark
And 'though we know the hurt, we know how much it's worth to stay here where we are

Hearts like yours and mine
Hearts like yours and mine
Hearts like yours and mine

There's hearts like yours and there's hearts like mine

@Cindy Rizzato I finally got to meet Dennis!!!! Had a pic taken with him! Got a long hug!!! I love that man!!

Linda Mongillo hello this makes you very lucky dear. I've never even gotten to see them in concert. But i did see them one time on PBS I think it was. I'd love to get to meet Dennis and maybe Ray. And even the others. If that would ever be possible. But they've never been to Little Rock AR. I think and I'm always here in AR. JDE

James Elton I waited YEARS to meet him! It was worth the wait. Unfortunately, all but 3 of the original band are gone. Rik Elswit (guitarist), Ray Sawyer, and Dennis are still around. Ray retired last year, I believe, after he fell and broke his hip. Dennis says he's "trying" to make it back to the US, but I really don't see it happening any time soon, unfortunately! I had to travel to the UK to see him, but would do it again, if the chance arises!

Linda: John "Jay" David, the first drummer with the curly brown hair, before John Wolters is still alive, as far as I know, and so is Bob Willard another blonde guitarist from some of the albums from 1976-1980 era when the songs were mostly just Dennis singing and the tracks laid down in studios, and the band lip-synching for TV. They could probably get a line-up with another of the guys who also played keyboards with them along the way, and some of the back-up gal singers?

My opinion, Dennis's voice and talent is second to none. And that includes Elvis and Sinatra. If you will spend some time to listen to him, you will see what I am saying. I'm not talking about charisma or his stage presence or name recognition. But his beautiful voice and delivery. Dennis never misses a word or a note. Perfection.

I think the studio version masks Ray too much. I prefer the live version in which you see Ray and Dennis surrounded by kids, which I thought an odd song choice for that setting? In that version, it's much more tender.
