Doris Day - Silver Bells Lyrics

Silver bells, silver bells
Soon it will be Christmas day
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of street lights, even stop lights blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch this is Santa's big scene
And above all the bustle you hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
Soon it will be Christmas day

For the first time ever I actually left a large department store after just 20 minutes because of the complete garbage they were playing that they thought constituted modern Christmas music. I got in my car and played this for my much younger girl friend. She had never heard it and was amazed and asked who the woman with the magical voice was :)THIS is Christmas music.

You are still a star in my heart. You may not be amongst us but your songs and your voice will always live in my heart. I‘ve loved every single song of yours. Especially: „the tunnel of love“ which is the typical fifties sound. You are amazing and wonderful, Aslam Ahmed.

I LOVED to hear Doris Day sing any song. She also had one of those unique voices.

Christmas starts only when I hear Silver Bells by Doris Day. I have heard it now so I guess Christmas is up and running for 2019 .
