Doris Day - As Used In The Film Young Man With A Horn Lyrics

With a song in my heart, I behold your adorable face
Just a song at the start but it soon is a hymn to your grace
When the music swells, I'm touching your hand
It tells me you're standing near, and

At the sound of your voice, heaven opens its portals to me
Can I help but rejoice that a song such as ours came to be
But I always knew I would live life through
With a song in my heart for you

But I always knew I would live life through
With a song in my heart for you

what a great star and singer doris day is. she is almost 100 years old now and kirk douglas himself is 100 years old. they are the last one's standing from the great years of black and white movies. thanks for the memories....

With Doris now gone, it’s Kirk and Olivia de Havilland from the Golden Age of Hollywood. They don’t make them like that anymore.

Bandleader: "What do you think I bought these arrangements for?" Kirk Douglas: "I don't know!" LOL!

Always been one of my favorite songs, so glad to have a chance to hear it, LOVE IT ! All these years never knew she did it, and have NEVER seen this movie>>>>>>>>>>>

  10. D.... ....

Doris Day would have to be invented if she did not already exist.

  11. r.... b....

Doris Day has a lovely voice.

The best music in this film is the scene that immediately precedes this one, where Carmichael and Douglas (Harry James dubbed) play about a 20 second piano and trumpet music passage together. Its the only music in the film that remotely resembles the music Carmichael played with Bix in the 1920's. Its a shame that the passage is so short, because its spot on. The rest of the music with Doris Day singing has nothing to do with Bix's music and is more about director Michael Curtiz promoting the talents of Doris Day, his personal 'discovery.'

  13. C.... ....

    It's bad

  14. G.... J....

Wow, I love that trumpet break -- that part made the entire movie for me when I first saw the film on television.

  15. J.... G....

Yeah before Lauren Bacall died this was the oldest film where the lead characters were still alive. Doris Day and Kurt Douglas are still with us.

    J.... G....
