Doors, The - Cars Hiss By My Window Lyrics
The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
I got this girl beside me
Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Can't hear my baby
Though I called and called
Yeah, right
Woo!
Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom
Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom, boom
A cold girl'll kill you
In a darkened room
Yeah, woo
Ride
Ride on
Weooooo!
Wawa, eooo!
Oooo, owa, owaaa!
Wa, waaaaea!
Ooo, wa, wa, wa, wa, waa!
Uh-huh

Sing the blues Jim !! Oh yeah !! That was his souls vocal release, the blues baby !!!
No matter what happens if gots to do with love or life in general the blues will always understand the mood of the heart."Sonic boom boom"!
Yes she will.

Joyland- Stephen King
Jim just gets better and better the more you listen to him! My Doors intake today has been CLASSIC man...
Cars hiss by nearby windows and may hit someone in the crosswalk because there is no pedestrian signal. So motorist noticing this barrel thru the intersection like Daytona after the yellow flag goes down.
Robbie everybody
Written about the view of La Cienegs blvd. Out the window of the Alts Cienega Motel rm#32 whrre Jim livrd for a couple years for 6.00$ a night.
Acrosd the street from the Phone Booth , a popular Titty
Bar just across the street.
On a good summers eve , one might hear
The phrase "Backdoor Man "
Screamed at full volume out the window , if there was
a Girl worth shouting it to.
The room was at times a hang out place , wher alot of his film school friends from UCLA eould drop by and have a Cold One on a hot day.
Jim walking around shirtless ,leather pants , sun glasses ,
Cigar and cases of beer..
I amoung other watched him shot gun a full case 24 beers in like a half hour.
Drink a whole beer in like 5 - 10 seconds.
Unreal.
Amazing capacity.
I'm here because of Stephen King's Joyland. Fvcking great song!
cars hiss by my window the speed version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OS2jXBGL7Y
Chillin killin
Man, when you're in this mood, there is simply nothing that can stop you from hearing the song until the end...
ES1X.0.
classic 12 bar blues
Probably my favorite if that's possible to have just one.
Spent some nights drinking alone and this makes a good companion.
Rest easy Jim.
Pair this with The Comsat Angels song “On the Beach”, shares a lot lyrically with this song. Plus it’s a great song, from an underrated band.
Fucking right the lizard king
Texan Marc Benno on guitar on this little Blues ditty.
What a smooth , sexy song . His voice makes me melt! Love this band.
What blues guitar solo SHOULD sound like!
Jimmy Reed Morrison
Perfect song for when you’re a little too high.
Why you need harmonica if you can do that sound by your voice?
what 3 am along a busy street sounds like.
This is from a half century ago. Feel old yet???
Lp in Vinile che ancora ascolto !!! GIN(): )
The Doors Really Captured who they always wanted to be and sound like as a band since the beginnings as a unit on this album. Four Amazing Minds and Unreal Talent. The Environments The Doors created on every song is heavenly. REST IN LOVE Ray and Jim!
It’s gonna happen
MY FAVORITE JIM'S BLUES ... forever!!!!
Rest in peace james
Amo esta canción
This song was about Pamela Courson being on Heroin, Jim would call and call but his baby, was out of reach.
Melhor banda do mundo
Ok. Excelente track...
Drink a cold beer and hit the bowl...
Nobody:
Jim: Weoooo wawa oooh
Wit ah sonic Boom. Yeap
Easy peasy blues
a new definition of urban blues... this is close stuff inside the blues genre... you've got ray & robby bringing a chicago style sensibility but jim adds another element. southern voice mixed w/ LA city haunt vision... a cold girl will kill you in a darkened room... says it all.
A cold girl.
@Wallace Callow thanks for headsup.... I meant that
My warm-up bass line (nice and easy on the fingers). RIP Jim...
I don't remember ever hearing this?
Thanks, The Doors did play
some blues didn't they
Lizard King,
in the ice ring
Layers of time
encapsulates
me
Listen to this song many a time cranking on the stereo. While driving my Holden..1957 FE. Model
Bad as s song.... Nothing but the best.....!!!!!!
These guys got it done. Simple yet complex. Perfect
Had all their albums.
This one is extremely unique.
Jim just killed it!
RIP GUYS
They're all dead
@el CHAMBA no ..only 2 have broken through to the other side ..Jim @Ray..
@Geoff Cook oh. Oops. Well shit they might as well be then. Lol.
Didn't realize how deep jim voice was, awesome for the Blue'sy type songs.
blues in E.
One of my favorites growing up the Radio really never play this one...fukn eh!!
i legit thought that was a harmonica,,,holy fuck dude
no se si sabes pero si si se le coloca lyrics la letra va en el video
A cold girl will kill you in a darkened room.- Morrison lyrics at their finest
Back then music was still good
remember w/ morrison, symbolism is big.... he saw the room as the culture your borne & trapped in.... its why the cold girl, is a foreboding yellow flag to america's fall into violence. the manson trial hung over this album like a dark cloud. no one nailed the coming nihilism of the mid '70's as early and deep as morrison. his high pitched moan at the end is the wolf giving its warning... la woman album is diamond in vision.
Why they didnt play more blues???? :-(
Because jim died they would have jim loved the blues and wanted to do more of it.
Because of the Club 27 :-( sadly. They would be great with blues.
One of my fave songs
'Big Legged Woman', by Muddy Waters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6kUs4rTFUU
I never noticed but it sounds like someone's making kerklunk sounds like a horse galloping slowly with their mouth. Am I crazy or does anyone else hear that? I cant think what percussion intrument would make that sound
Sworn Dungeons
Lololo
Is that outro solo, Morrison's voice!?
Yup..Beautiful Is it not?
@Sad Nightsthank you! Oh It's incredible
"The Best" .. One for the repeat button over a bottle of Red ......
Not giving a fuck Rockin how ya see fit! With a touch of blues!RIP Mr. Mojorising!
Why didn't they just bring in John Sebastian again, who had played a real harmonica for them on "Roadhouse Blues"?
Such public genius.
Dope mouthanica lol long live jimmy.
I always thought the words were, "a call girl will kill you."
Man, how I wish he was still here to do more Blues! The best Bluesman ....Ever!

I love this blues
most underrated band ever.
Turning Blues into Rock loooonnng before Zeppelin was doing it
The Doors were underrated? I didnt know
@Impericon they are.... many critics slight them. they get pegged below the stones, zep, who, cream, aerosmith etc., when in reality they were much more influential, envelope pushing & sustaining.
My girlfriend and i just broke up like two weeks ago, i drove from arizona to las vegas that weekend listening to the doors thinking about her all the way ... a cold girl kill me in a dark room too
"A cold girl'll kill you.. in a darkend room"!
This song came to mind while in a Travelodge in Depoe Bay. Highway 101 was outside my window and the Pacific Ocean just beyond that.
Weooooo!
Wawa, eooo!
Oooo, owa, owaaa!
Wa, waaaaea!
Ooo, wa, wa, wa, wa, waa!
Uh-huh
Thanks for that, I always wondered what those lyrics were.
The Doors or the Zeppelins, I'll never be able to decide.....
Doors, Zep don't do anything for me
🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
I love that you typed out Jim's nonsensical howls and shrieks in the lyrics in the description
Well told story
The Doors be a Fair-Dinkum BLUES Band!_!I-i!_! This particular Album changed My already more then just appreciative View of The Doors. I am in absolute awe of their creations, especially at most their solid contribution to the endless World of The Blues.)' I am yet to study this Piece properly as yet, as I just Listen too as You with all receptors of mine Smiling HIGH:)(:
PEACE. LOVE. RESPECT
JOOSHKA
_(:/)D
The original version was the best. When they added that extra verse (dog crawl outta my window or whatever) it completely changed the song and made it less dark and more of a goof.
Maybe I'll just move to Mexico get fat and sing the blues change my name to mojo risen
I'm 26 now and I feel like I finally know what it feels to say "grown folk music"
jim lives in all of us man
puuuaaaa puawww puawww puawww puawww..waaawaaawaaawaaa
