Donny Osmond - Alone Again (Naturally) Lyrics

In a little while from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promised myself to treat myself
Visit a nearby tower

And climbing to the top
And throw myself off
In an effort to make it clear to
Whoever what it's like when your shattered

Left standing in the lurch
At a church where people saying
“My, that's tough, she stood him up
No point in us remaining”

“We may as well go home”
As I did on my own
Alone again naturally

To think that only yesterday
I was cheerful, bright and gay
Looking forward to but who wouldn't do
The role I was about to play

But as if to knock me down
Reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch
Cut me into little pieces

Leaving me to doubt
Talk about God and His mercy
For if He really does exist
Why did He desert me

In my hour of need?
I truly am indeed
Alone again naturally

It seems to me that there are more hearts
Broken in this world
That can't be mended, left unattended
What do we do? What do we do?

Alone again naturally

Looking back over the years
Whatever else that appears
I remember I cried when my father died
Never wishing to hide the tears

And at sixty-five years old
My mother, God rest her soul
Couldn't understand why the only man
She had ever loved had been taken?

Leaving her to start
With a heart so badly broken
Despite encouragement from me
No words were ever spoken

And when she passed away
I cried and cried all day
Alone again naturally
Alone again naturally

So much better alone .... not the slightest doubt in this respect ... as far as God and religions go, they can stay where they are until they produce men who are worth it, treat women properly and faithfully and share decision making when it comes to public, economic, lifestyles or private matters and not one sidedly as they have always did, producing a world of male supremacy which is destroying women, families and the world in general, no matter where they come from.

  7. B.... B....

I am so much better than to live with a man who thinks he is a God and cannot be resisted and has all the rights and privileges as most think they are and do .......

  8. B.... B....

It is the best situation : to be alone ... that way we avoid many dangers and problems ......

I heard that song a lot , the Gilbert and Sullivan version. But I did not hear the lyrics as they were.
    I thought it said
"In a little while from now, I'm not feeling any less bored" , (or "Any less sad." or "Any less down.")

Then I thought one of the other sentences went, "I decided to treat myself to visit a nearby town."

Other words I misunderstood in this song.

"May as well well go home and find out on my own"

"And without so much as a million touch, left me without any pieces, leaving me to doubt all of god said in his mercy , who if he really does exist , why not keep on searching "

"It seems to me the Baron of hearts fills in the lot that can be mended, left unattended."..

"Looking back for the years, not less any more feared..
I remember I cried when my father died never wishing to dry the tears"

"At 65 years old, my mother died just as old" (or "At 65 years old, my mother just left the fold" ) "

"Couldn't understand why the only man she had ever had been taken "
"Leaving me to fart with a heart so badly broken despite encouragement from me no words were ever spoken.
