OK, it is a tribute to Ray Charles, and that's all very nice, such interprofessional mutual admiration, but the thing is, here a very nice melody got spoiled by an over-enthousiastical mouth organ. It's like a good dish with to much sauce and mayo on top of it. The melody line is soooo damned catchy, the background vocalists are so spot on, adding a dreamy touch, and then, in steps the mouth organ, and it's trouble in paradise. Such a pity....

This is probably the album by Fagen that I like the least. But the few cuts that I like, I like better than anything he did. Most of us know how to do just one single thing alone, but in most cases, we do it well, despite the fact that it isn't what we pictured doing for the rest of our lives, not what we would like to do the best, but what we do better, somehow. Thanks!
