I'm a songwriter myself and met the guy who wrote this song at the Frank Brown International Songwriter's Festival in Perdido Key, Florida, at the Flora-Bama Lounge. The lounge sits right on top of the Florida/Alabama line on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The Festival is in November. Check it out online and come hear some great music like the one you just heard.
