I can't stop listening to Nicole since I discovered her, this song is fucking amazing !

Unbelievable artist, a lot of her lyrics feel like they’re ripped from pages of my life from about the age 12 to 26 and being a couple years past the days of just non-stop chaos wether it was addictions, love and heartbreak, making friends and family and seeing some old ones for what they really are, her music just breathes with me, her music has moved me in the right direction when I was at the very end of my rope, I felt so fucked up after all the shit I’ve been through and her music was a friend through it at such a (what I feel) critical time and now looking back I’m grateful for all of it but I still listen to her every day!
Her lyrics, voice and choice of music together are so beautiful!

I found this song on late night satellite radio in LA driving my rig into hell. This angel upended my whole scene !! I’ve not been the same since mate !! I’m going to my own drums to it though for a darker acoustic live feel. A Chapman stick bass would be sooooooo good to accent the drums. so about the lyrics and song after a long hour of researches:
Nicole always make references to the mansons as we know, this song in particular has a lot of references in and out of contest, firstval she refers to tammy faye who was an evangelist singer, she was a glamorous persona and that's why her appereance is very notoriously mentioned here, tammy had some connections with Marilyn Manson who received a letter written by the cult leader Charles Manson when he was in prison. After, Sadie Mae appers, in fact, she was Susan Atkins (member of the manson family), she became popular due to the murder of Sharon Tate who was pregnant, Sharon was the first victim whose family had the right to speak out about on tribunal, she basically made history turning the memories of the victim in dignity for the family, the verses are about nicole being a victim of the unconditional passion she has got for her abusive partner, defending him even for the murders (as a metaphor) he possibly commited, while forgiving and trying to fix his mistakes "for me to find, when I try to dig it up, and bring it back to life".
Then we have "Tammy Wynette", she was a very important country singer and actress but had to deal with a lot of health issues, just as tammy faye who died of different kinds of cancer; if you are wondering "crying in the kitchen" is about the relation Tammy Wynett had with cooking and the program "Country Kitchen" she joined in 1998 the year of her death. Nicole's persona in the song would've done anything at her lover's commands, like any of the Manson's followers would and ending up enjoying to, personally I treat the song as a very clear example of stockholm syndrome. "I’ve done it again" the ending line could refer to the subsequent cases of Sharon Tate and LaBianca.

She was known for her thick application of makeup, along with heavily crying on tv. “Tammy Faye eyes” refers to crying with eyeliner and mascara streaming down your face. Sadie Mae was a member of the Manson family, a cult that was convicted for the murder of actress Sharon Tate. Sadie was fiercely loyal to cult leader Charles Manson, doing everything he commanded and was convicted for life because of him.

I would like to add that Tammy Wynette was a country singer who wrote the song “Stand By Your Man.” Apparently one time she made up a story about getting kidnapped to hide the fact that she was beaten by her husband from the media.

Definitely seems like a Nicole-esque thing to reference.

There was also a documentary written on Faye, called The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Funny.
