John norum was a better fit in the band his guitar tune and tone match don't voice he wasn't a flamboyant guitarist he just played and rocked it and he could hit lynch"s licks

Best songwriter ever !

"Will The Sun Rise" from Under Lock And Key is very memorable for me, such great chords in that song. Up From The Ashes, i mention that to a lot of people who are metal fans, and all of them knew what i was talking about and loved that record! and still do to this day, like myself.  Long Way Home has beautiful songs, i am amazed how Don's songs have matured, well yeah he's older now, just saying.:)

Up From The Ashes had such great musicians, the best, Mikkey Dee, Billy White, Peter Baltes, John Norum, ALL of whom are VERY, VERY underrated and Don was smart enough to know that and get them in that band!!

Very good song.   Dokken was one of my favorite bands when I was a teenager, and this sounds like their music has matured.   Don's voice is even better than ever.

I haven't listened to anything from them after the group broke up - Beast from the East was the last album I bought.  I'll have to change that.
