Dokken - Hole In My Head Lyrics

I feel - something's not right in my head
I know - must have been something I said
What could be drawing me in
Closer and closer again
All of the visions escape from the holes in my head
Can you - see what I'm trying to say
All my - feelings are turning to gray
The light in the tunnel grows dim
My silver lining has left all these clouds in my head
Watching the thoughts grow in rows in the fields of my mind
Into an ocean of words that I cannot define
I see - must have been something I said
Suddenly everything's clear
All my experience left me with nothing to fear
Won't be long
Won't be long

Ah, yes another Dokken fan who *isn't* a poser who only listens to whatever Lynch plays in.

@nata72 Anything without the orginal four I won't listen to. I saw these guys at a small venue show they headlined (about 3500 people) in 1986 or 1987. Small enough that a local bank opened for them. Taking George Lynch out of Dokken is like Floyd without David Gilmour or maybe a little lesser extent Queensryche without Chris DeGarmo.

That's really, REALLY stupid logic, especially since most of their post lynch stuff has been some of the best they've ever done. It's really dumb to ignore a good bands work just because it doesn't have George, Jeff, and Mick... who by the way, aren't even the original 4. Go look up who played in Breaking the Chains when it was released in 1981, it certainly wasn't Jeff, George or Mick.

I bought this album when it came out and was a little surprised it faltered. While not every track on this album will ever come close to the magic these guys had with Breaking the Chains or Tooth and Nail, this was a very good offering in it's own right and I listened to it quite extensively after I bought it in 1995. This song is the best on the CD.

Totally agree, except for the best song. lol Hole tied with Too High To Fly. Between those two songs, they almost single handedly rewrote Dokken without upsetting the applecart. I was a fan since Chains, saw them open for Aerosmith for my first concert, saw Lynch Mob on their original tour, and Hole and Fly blew my mind. Felt like George was basically saying, "Buckle up kiddies, cuz we're going for a ride" and it hasn't stopped since.

Was both surprised and not surprised in Van Halen Rising that George and Eddie VH were pretty close buds in the days before VH broke.

Still think Walk Away stands the test of time, and the tone Mr. Lynch grabs on that solo, just plain awesome.

We talked with Mick on the Shadow Life tour after we had a chance to pick up Dysfunctional's Japanese release. Fly had bongos in it. Mick swore it was just the mix, that the bongos were in the stateside recording also.

Don Dokken's Ashes solo album was really strong and the tour with John, Billy, Peter and Mr. Dee was off the chains.

@rock666guitar Hell to pay and lightning strikes are amazing if you have not heard them, the writing and the riffs but if you have then ignore that statement. I just prefer those album IMO...

Definitely shows their incredible harmony and range. I love this song and it is a testament to what an incredible band Dokken is :) Can't wait till they get back together and write again!

Very underrated album. Love the mix of the 80's and 90's sounds.
