Dokken - Crash 'N Burn Lyrics

[White, Dokken]

I considered all the chances that were mine
I believed they'd find solutions just in time
I believed they had more answers than I'd heard
The angels sing a different song

Strangers all around us, "Trust in me " they say
"We have got the answers, to save the world today."

I considered all the things they said.
Paper plans drawn out but never read
To save us from our darkest fears
We close our eyes and trust that time will find a way
How we trusted in you, no one knows for sure
Still its all but over, sailing on a ship of fools

[CHORUS:]
Crash 'N Burn..To live again
Up from the ashes I rise
What was clear, the tragedy
Took all my chances away

Crash 'N Burn...To live again
Up from the ashes I rise
Only to find its a lie

Listening to the radio, it seemed to me
Prophets selling fast cars and a dream
Send your money to us right away
There's a seat reserved for you
At the holy altar
You can live for free
In the name of his name
For eternity

[CHORUS]
[BRIDGE]

Too many words have been spoken
So many people divine
Too many questions rise from my heart
Answers I may never find... before I

[CHORUS]

“Up from the Ashes” and “Wicked Sensation” great albums and killers

But Up From the Ashes is better!

@Francisco Geovanny The closest two albums I've ever heard and enjoyed.. Damn... I'm gonna go for Don's record here with a slight edge but I can't not mention 'Through These Eyes' off the wicked sensation album which is my favourite power ballad track featuring Lynch. Lynch Mobs second album has 'When Darkness Calls' which I think is one of Lynch's best songs bar none.

Do yourselves a favour and get Rokken with Dokken!

  11. B.... B....

I love the riff on this song. Don's rhythm playing kicks so much ass. And the solo just blazes. All these years later, I still crank this song to eleven when it comes on.

  12. j.... g....

One of the best from the 80s hard rock/metal era

This album was recorded in 1990

This song is AWESOME!!! People now can't appreciate good music such as Don Dokken.

the entire album is great. just a gloried Dokken album with different musicians. i could totally envision this album as a Dokken record
    w/Jeff, George and Mick

@Javy C It wouldn't sound anything like this though, of course. People always thinking that Norum and white are emulating Lynch on this record when that's false completely. It's always been Don's band and sound. Lynch Mobs records George put out at this time are a different sounding George and production which confirms the Dokken sound here was always Don's Dokken sound. Just pointing it out, as it's evident in the comments on their videos this is the general assumption. As a player myself (not that that is any validation over YouTube anyway lol) I can say that generally there isn't all that much of a similarity between Norum and Lynch. Especially not Billy White. Whilst not worlds apart in style or sound there's of course different guys behind the Axe each time. I'm pretty certain I could pick both out of a line-up after hearing just a few notes. Norums record 'Face The Truth' and 'Total Control' worth a listen too people! Does his own sound justice there and sings amazingly well also, which I was surprised to find out. He has some of cleanest phrasing and articulate vibrato/phrasing out there for me. (for vibrato phrasing masters John Sykes and Yngwie probably shah's out as the two most original sounding)
