Dodos, The - Bastard Lyrics
I am not your little brother
I am not your son
You are not my older brother
I will call you one
I'm no longer your bastard
How long will you need to recover
I'm no longer your bastard
I will follow you till it's over
I will stick to one
I will gravitate to another
Follow anyone
I feel your need to recover
How long will you need to recover
I'm no longer your bastard

Dodos, The Bastard Comments
I looked forward to this song. The cymbals and drums remind me of the swordsman's Dojo in Clock Town in Zelda - Majora's Mask.
They also released a short clip where Meric and Logan were dressed as warriors, maybe it does have something to do with it
Thank you Rafael for sharing the new songs here. I was waiting for this ! Did you listen the entire album ? I would love to know your feelings, have a good day.
Carrier was indeed very special, when it came out I listened to it maybe twice a day. I was completely addicted to it. But after sometime I didn't find myself listening to it very often, not as often as I listened to Beware or Visiter. The Dodos are definitively my favorite band, it's hard to pick a favorite song. Out of Beware, I have to say it's "Chickens". From Visiter, The Season no doubt. From Time to Die it's Longform, No Color: Don't Stop; Carrier: Stranger; Individ, so far, it's been The Tide and Precipitation, with a special mention to Pattern/Shadow and Bastard. However I must say these are only favorite from a rational standpoint. It may change from time to time, place to place and according to my emotional state aswell. How about yours?
@Rafael Dapieve I had the same feelings for Carrier. I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one having The Dodos as favorite band. People don't know what they're missing! From Beware I would say "Men" or "Chickens". From Visiter, The Season too, this is my favorite song of all time, so much feelings and energy, the second part is genius. From Time To Die, "Two medicines". From No Color, I would say "Don't try and hide it" or "When will you go?". Carrier: "The Ocean". For Individ, I don't really know, maybe "Goodbyes and endings" or "Bastard" ! But I really love all songs. Have you seen them live?
@Dogtown
Unfortunately no, I live in Brazil and I don't think they have ever been here, nor they plan to. I've seen videos of them playing live, but it's not the same as actually being there. I've sent a couple of comments on their page like a humble "Come to Brazil" but I don't think it will ever work!
Me neither, I hope one day. I wish you to see them !
You aswell!
